Hi,
I have an idea for breeding sylestis
What if you could breed two different species of sylestis (Draeyl + lupora)
And get a hatchling that's the species of the mom or the dad & with colors from each parent to the hatchling ?

Example:

Parents. Hatchling possibilities
Draeyl (mom) + lupora(dad) = Lupora or Draeyl.
Color: red sides, Color: light blue. Colors: rusty
&black back& Sides& dark blue Dark red sides
Lime green. Back& turquoise & shiny ebony
Belly& yellow. Belly& light sea Back & light
Eyes Green eyes. Lime w/ twinge
Of light blue belly &
light shamrock green Eyes

My example was one of the many possibilities for different sylesti type breedings .
Tell me what you think! Im open to new ideas!

I would not support this, mainly because breeding rare pets is all ready so easily done that "Fabled" pets can easily be found for breeding for 1g, and can often be found for sale at that price, too. If I took my starter female nixi and went and bred her with a neph, I could easily get one of the rarest species in the game.

Let's say, though, that there were dominance between species where the common species were more dominant to the rarer ones. Well, then I just have to breed my Nixi to a Neph, and breed the resulting Nixi (which carries Neph) to another Neph to have a 50% chance of getting a Neph...Still far too easy.

The idea is good initially, but with the current pet economy it could be disastrous and dilute the value of rarer species even farther than they already are :(

Ok, I have a new idea that's hopefully better than my last one.

Being able to see what your hatchling will be like in adult form with its colors before you breed your sylesti with someone else's sylesti

Oh, and also because many species have different traits. Like a vulnyx with tuxedo breeding with a Zolnixies with pearl armor... The artists would have a lot if work to do... And also, you can change the pet image URL to see adult form. Though it has to be tested...I think.

The test breeding with someone else's Sylesti is actually something that Krin will implement in the future, the breeding generator, which you cannot click at the moment, is actually for this purpose.

I have an idea. What if in the breeding generator page only sylesties' that are compatible with each other are shown. So that once you have chosen a pet to breed you don't have to go through a lot of your other pets to find a pair that are breed-able.

I know what you mean, it's a pain to actually go through that aha.

But that means for EVERY pet that you choose on one side (ie the male), it would take a bit of parsing and loading to create a customized list of compatible pets for that one male (filtering out what's related to that male).
You'd have to create a second checkpoint to make that customized list for every pet, the same way that you can create a customized list of pets that filter out what's a hatching/adolescent/recovering, except the lists for compatibility is individualized per pet.

It's a viable idea and it'd save trouble for breeders who have lots of pets that are related to one another. (aka I'm not against it)
Though that'd be up to Krin if he wants to create a search filter like that.

It's true that it may take a while to load, but if you think about the larger percentage of people that breed, they are trying to get certain traits. So it's more than likely that they will have pets that are related. Not only will this feature help them find pets to breed, it will also help them see when they have to start being on the lookout for new-blood. Which in doing so will save more time in the long-run.
