(me, writing this at 2 am: wow this intro is getting really long)
(also me, 3 seconds later: what if I added TRAINS! for DRAMATIC EFFECT!!)
A thousand years ago, the world fell apart--and was put back together again by forces yet beyond comprehension.
Ever since the cataclysmic event now known as the Great Ravelling, the world has been reforged into a new state where everything is once again uncertain. Prehistoric creatures roam lands dotted with mysterious ruins, while grasping vines swallow those who push too far into the wilderness and islands in the clouds cast shadows over the land.
In the time since, the world has slowly grown closer to something resembling order, establishing safe havens and cities full of life. Yet, the mysteries of the world have only grown: maps that write and unwrite themselves, mysterious trains that carry passengers into the unknown, shadowy forces seeking to harness fantastical power. People and places appear (and disappear) overnight, and yet many things still bear traces of the past world.
Perhaps, then, it's not out of the ordinary that you woke up in this world that is familiar, yet with no idea who you are.
What are your ambitions? Your dreams? Where did you come from? What will you do now?
The answers may end up being even more difficult to discern than your surroundings, and it's up to you to make your way in a world that doesn't always quite make sense.

Rules + Info
---
1. Narrator's word is law--I control everything except for your character's actions/internal thoughts/motives, and have final say in what does or does not occur as a result of them.
(e.g. you can't magically make objects appear out of nowhere, nor ensure that your strikes always land.)
- For simple tasks, you may assume that you automatically succeed (ex. putting something on a table, writing your name)
- For complex skills, please attempt first before making your next move (ex. "I try to hit it with my sword", rather than "I slice through all of the enemies")
- Don't make huge time/location skips (ex. "I wake up, eat breakfast, walk down the street, and buy some flowers before sitting down for lunch.")
On the other hand, feel free to go wild with what your character does do, say, or think :D
2. No overpowered/perfect characters (Mary Sues/Gary Stus).
3. Please quote/bold my last reply to you and ping me when you reply--it makes it easier for me to keep track of who's who and what's going on with everyone.
4. Please let me know if you're going to be inactive for more than two weeks or might be slow to reply. If you haven't replied after multiple reminders (after 2+ weeks of inactivity), I'll most likely archive your character to free up another spot for someone.
5. Please try to write at least 3 sentences per post (ideally, match about the amount I'm writing). If you're having trouble, try writing about what your character's thinking or interact with the scenery, etc.
- Shorter replies are fine for certain situations, such as fast-paced fight scenes
6. I may deny character forms or kick players at any time for my own reasons.
7. Feel free to let me know if there's anything I missed/forgot, or if you have any questions! If you read the rules, please put the name of a flower somewhere in your character form.

Sign-Up Form
---
Ping me on this thread or DM me your form.
If you wish, you can reserve a spot for up to a week.
Please let me know if you have any questions while creating your character!
* denotes a field that is optional.
Please delete anything in parentheses.

Basic Info
Username
Character Name
Gender
Age
Appearance
(May be anything humanoid that generally fits the setting)
Personality
Bio*
(If you wish, your character can start the RPG some time after they "woke up" (max. 6 months) and have been doing things since then. This is not for any backstory your character may have had before waking up here.)
(ex. "After waking up in a forest with no memory, [character] made their way to a city. Since then, they've found work at a dock and have been trying to live a fairly normal life. They've tried to find any leads on where they came from, but haven't been successful.")
(If you choose to have no bio, your character will begin by waking up. Either is fine!)
Ambition(s)*
(Can be as simple as "trying to figure out what is going on" lol, or can tie into your bio if you have one. It's also possible to have an ambition like "world domination" or "pet all the cats" even if you have no idea what's happening :D)
Weapon/Tool of Choice*
(Pick one, within reason. You'll get it as a starting item)
Ability & Relic*
(An ability sourced from a personal item--cannot be a weapon/tool. Feel free to be creative with what it is, so long as it's not overpowered. If you're not sure, check with me.)
(e.g. a pin that allows the wearer to control heat within a 5 meter radius, a music box that heals those listening)
Writing Example
(Can be something preexisting, you can DM me this if you wish. More than 5 sentences please)

Skills
---
I am shamelessly stealing the same system from my last RPG because I like it
Attributes
General abilities determining your skill in doing most basic tasks. While a simple task may be easily accomplished without highly leveled attributes, more difficult endeavors require more skill. The easiest way to increase these levels is simply through experience.
These skills level indefinitely.
Strength
Your ability to exert physical force. The higher your level, the greater your ability to create powerful attacks, lift heavy objects, block other strong forces, and other endeavors that require physical prowess.
Intelligence
Your ability to learn and use knowledge. The higher your level, the greater your ability to learn quickly, recall and use knowledge from memory, innovate, and other endeavors that require mental prowess.
Constitution
(also known as stamina)
Your ability to carry out a strenuous task or withstand adverse conditions for a long period of time. The higher your level, the longer you will be able to exert physical or mental effort without fatigue, or endure pain/injury.
Dexterity
Your ability to work with your hands. The higher your level, the greater your fine motor skills and ability to keep your hands steady and movements controlled when working with fine objects or something that requires delicacy.
Agility
Your ability to move with grace and balance. The higher your level, the greater speed and flexibility you have, and the more surely you can carry out tasks that require poise and mobility.
Observation
(also known as perception)
Your ability to notice what is happening around you. The higher your level, the greater your ability to pick up on useful details, pay attention to your surroundings, and pick out tells or other information that can give you an edge.
Charisma
Your ability to communicate with others. The higher your level, the more likely you are to be able to persuade others to do what you want, lie convincingly, or sway people with your words.
---
Techniques
Techniques are more specific (but still widely applicable) skills you can acquire, derived from the basic attributes. Your ability to learn/difficulty in learning a technique derives from your level in its attributes, and your ability to use it derives from your level in the technique itself. You may learn a technique (if your attributes are high enough level) by teaching yourself (slower) or by learning from someone (faster). You may gain levels through practicing a technique you already know or by asking someone with a higher level to teach you.
(Examples: Close-Range Combat, Navigation)
These skills have a max mastery of 100%, at which point you are considered to have mastered proficiency in the technique.
???
---
Talents
Talents have the most specific usage yet the greatest variety of any skill. They can be first learned in a multitude of ways: by being taught, by reading how to do it, or even by accident. Some require knowledge or mastery in a specific technique to learn, but others do not. You may gain levels by learning or being taught how to execute the talent in more complex or refined ways.
(Examples: Swordsmanship, Setting Traps)
These skills have three levels: Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced.
???
---
Abilities
Strange powers attained through a multitude of methods and mediums.
