So the thing about encounters is that muscle memory just goes "okay fight!" in 0.01 seconds as soon as an encounter happens. 95% of the time, I don't see the "rare trait!" part in the battle long until AFTER I've killed the pet and am wandering around for the next encounter, and that's assuming I ever see it at all.

The odds of someone seeing their log during a mindless grind session and going "Oh look, rare trait!" before that 0.01 seconds is... ahh... slim. Very slim.

Can we get a "rare trait" marker somewhere on the pet during the battle? Like a red * mark by it's difficulty stars since people typically glance at those to see the pet's rarity?

Oddly enough I was just thinking about that and was roaming around trying to figure out when it became visible because I kept missing it. Support. : )

I agree with everyone else here. Battling is really quick at this stage and I usually don't see it until they are dead and I'm trying to find the next encounter. Lots of oops moments. Support ^^

might be good to have, something? A note in the battle log when it starts maybe?
Because in addition to it being very easy to miss, with event-induced battles it goes straight to the battle and you don't see the Rare Trait notification in the explore log until after the the fight's over

I suggest a rare trait popup or rare trait notification on the battle screen itself.

I did actually have "battle log" included when I first drafted the post, but then I went back into battle and realized "no, that would also be gone in a blip" since a single turn of battle can be long enough that it already has a scroll bar, so anything at the top would be gone in a round. (IE, my first round did 15 lines and only ~11 lines are visible.)

So I shut down my own initial thought and went for a suggestion that would be permanently visible be tacking it onto the details on the right.

I feel a red asterisk in the pet name on the combat screen would be visible enough and consistent with how it shows as a gene.
