Hi! Is it possible to have Site Events that are newbie-friendly, or at least inclusive to newbies? My friend who referred me to my site is enjoying participating in the event (and the one before), and I wish I could do the same, but I haven't unlocked The Lost Grove.. which is apparently only accessible after completing almost, if not all the quests. I'm seeing a lot of people talking on the forums and having a lot of fun with these events, but sadly I feel left out and a bit discouraged.
(I am using a guide to complete the main missions, it just takes me a bit longer since I have to also send my main fighting pets on minor missions for hours to acquire gold in order to be well-equipped for the main storyline. I'm not sure how some people complete everything in just a week.)
Thanks for all the hard work you guys put into the site, by the way! I love the artwork and effort you put into the pet designs. :D

generally the best way to do missions is to have 5-10 pets who are specifically set up for them, so you don't ever need to send your main party out, and can continue with the main plotline/quests while the mission pets work in the background
you can also always post in the QA forum or the battle forum (or the dungeon/zone discussion forum if applicable) for help with progression
LG is the main place non-seasonal festival events take place to encourage people to progress, though some of the events spread out slightly into the two dungeons in region 1 and 2, and both zones in region 3
The four Seasonal Festivals, which are the Big events, have their own Zones that are accessible to all players while the festival is active; it's the 1-2 week-long events like this that don't
I'd be happy to help you with things like your team build so you can progress more easily if you make a post in one of the applicable forums asking for it (I often take newbies needing help and better equips as an excuse to make myself actually open some of my lv25 very hard mission satchels because it can be a real tedious task to make myself do otherwise)

Thank you very much for the tips, Scathreoite. Looks like I will need to set some time aside and train some other pets up, too. It's also good to know the Seasonal Festivals are accessible to all players. :) I'll just have to be patient and wait for those, if I've still not completed the main storyline.
I'll go take a look at the forums you mentioned. Thanks again!

you don't really need to train up pets to be mission pets- you can buy pet of higher levels from other players (search using Advanced Search), and pets also get exp from missions, so you can train them up by sending them on lower level missions at first if needed.
They should do fine as long as you're sending them on missions that they've been set up for (proficiencies, equips) and are high enough level for
(once you have all 6 mission slots unlocked, via the guy in the esior's haven sylesti plaza, and access to all difficulties of missions (I'm... reasonably sure I remember way back when that the higher level ones were initially locked? But that was years and years ago now so I might be remembering wrong), you can pull in a pretty good haul from missions, in terms of equips, gold, healing items, etc.)
Spring Fest won't be until May, I think I saw Krin mention in chat a bit ago, so it isn't for another month or two, but yeah, they're a good launch point for some people, since the enemy mob levels scale to match the highest level on the player's party, and they give a good view of later area mechanics (read: actual map to explore) compared to the extremely old and outdated "hit search, event happens, hit search, event happens" of the region 1&2 areas.
It is possible that if/when the early zones get updated to the new explore system they could also start hosting parts of events like this the same way, but at the moment I don't think the way they're coded can easily deal with things like that (they were old back when I joined)

Wow, I feel overwhelmed with all your kindness. Thank you SO much! <3 I really appreciate it. This community is awfully generous. Thanks for helping a newbie like me out. ;) I'm hoping to do the same in the future once I'm able to give, too.

It's unfortunately mostly just technical/mechanical issues that forces us to put so much content just inside the Lost Grove. The first two regions are built with extremely inflexible code. There is virtually nothing that we can do with those regions without probably breaking a hundred things.
The two other zones from the third region give us a little bit of flexibility to do some minor things, but even they are still 'late game' as they are Level 50-60. And by that point, a player isn't very far from gaining access to the Lost Grove.
All in all, it's just easiest for us to add content into the Lost Grove because it at least has some basic structure for us to work with. But even then, it's not that great as even the Lost Grove is still built upon the same original architecture that the other exploration systems are built upon.
That said, the 4 major Festivals offer their own exclusive zone that players can access. It scales from Level 10 to 75, so brand new players can easily access and explore it even after only playing for a couple of days. Our limited time events, such as Week of Love and Fortune Event, do not have dedicated zones so we stick their content in the easiest place for us to do so - which happens to be the Lost Grove.
It works decently well and it does provide players with great motivation to progress through the game to access the Lost Grove. We do at least always offer alternative ways to earn the event prizes though. For example, for the Fortune Event, players can Nurture or play Lucky Draw to earn all sorts of various prizes. They can also check off a few Event Task Log tasks even without access to the Lost Grove. And, of course, there are the Forum Games which anyone can participate in.
I hope this helps to shed some light on how our events are structured.

Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter Festival. They usually last a month or more, I think? I don't know.
