There's a shadow lurking on the edge of the woods , silhouetted against the pale moonlight like a knife's blade glinting with cruelty . It appears there right around the time when everyone had gone to bed, and spends its night facing towards us. Its sullen gaze perpetuates an aura of malice that could raze the very foundations of the building we hide from, shredding brick, wood, flesh and bone like freshly fallen snow.
This creature is not of flesh and blood, nor of a mortal soul. This creature knows nothing but the task it was summoned to do, and the undying hatred that fuels the completion of said task.

For the beginning of winter until now, no one has dared approach the sigils and charms written across the expanse of backyard separating its claws from our skin. So now as the power supplying the wall runs lower, each night I watch it encroach another step. In the beginning a mere thorn in the distance, now a sinister scar in our idyllic backyard. The certainty of death drips from its jagged beak, laced in its feathered cloak black like burned blood. It knows we can't hide forever. And it will continue to sick through the wall of charms like a bullet through the flesh until there is nothing that can stop its ravenous rage.
