I am have been on Sylestia for a while now, and figured I should share some personal info!
I have 2 cats and a pug. The cats are named Ocho (black and white tuxedo boy) and Skye (all white ragdoll cat). Gracie is the name of my pug. All of my pets are rescues- Gracie and Skye are from a shelter and Ocho has a crazy rescue story that I will include after the pet pictures
I am currently in college studying Psychology and minoring in art! I absolutely love to learn and aspire to be an art therapist one day.

Ocho is the sweetest little tuxedo kitty. Some people think he is named after the 8-ball, which happens to be a cute coincidence, but not his name inspiration. I live in Washington DC on the East coast(the capital of the US, for my foreign friends who may wonder). Nearby is the city of Baltimore, Maryland, of which I visit often in passing. One day, while driving through a highway in Baltimore with my mother, we witnessed a person intentionally throw a little kitten (he ended up being 6 WEEKS OLD) out of their car window into the shoulder of the highway. My mother and I immediately stopped the car in traffic, and I almost got hit by several cars as I ran in my heels (we were on the way to a Broadway show) down the side of the highway to grab the cat (we were hoping he was still alive at this point). This is when we met Ocho. He is named Ocho for the fact that he used one of his 9 lives that day, and now only has 8 (ocho is 8 in spanish). After rushing to the nearest vet hospital with this kitten we were sure was going to die in our arms, he miraculously lived. And not just lived- thrived- as soon as he got some pain meds in him!
We unfortunately did not get the license plate number of the evil person who did this to him. We reported the incident to the police and they told us that people who abuse animals in this way, little 6-week old kittens like Ocho, are generally going to do the same to humans next (if they arent already hurting people). This is your sign to STAY SAFE in this world, take precautions, and, if you are like my mother and I, get a dashboard camera for your car.
The little boy is now a member of the family, neutered, and growing fast! Miracles do happen, but so do tragedies. Stay safe and lots of love from all of us (Ocho, Skye, Gracie, and me)!
