i'm all for trying new things, but this is suuuuuuch a hassle. It's not even just that it makes the bosses incredibly harder, but there also doesn't seem to be a real reason behind it other than trying to force a money dump. (Unless it /is/ a purposeful money dump, in which case, ignore this, lol!)

It feels like i'm being forced to purchase higher level potions when i have a gazillion of the lower level ones that i'd prefer to use up instead. It also seems like less-geared players are being punished because the higher-geared kids are killing bosses so fast.

At this time, the Consumable cooldown is here to stay. We feel it's a fundamental aspect to any game that allows in-battle consumables and is pivotal to making fights with mechanics (such as the final boss of the 2nd dungeon). Without a cooldown, anyone with enough elixirs could just ignore her mechanics and easily win every time.

We also have always planned on adding a cooldown to consumables, but just weren't able to add it until now. Had everyone joined the game with the cooldown in place, I doubt anyone would have thought twice about it and would have just considered it a core aspect of the game. In time, everyone will feel that way once you get used to it.

I understand it makes certain battles more challenging, but that's the point It's so you have to pay more attention to your enemies and learn better strategies for defeating those hard battles.

There really isn't any game I can think of with consumables that also doesn't have a cooldown. Or, it's like Pokemon where your entire turn is using an item. We allow your pets to continue battling and think of it as YOU actually using the item. So it makes sense that there is a small 'reload time' after using an elixir or draught in the middle of a battle.

I mean, imagine playing in a game like World of Warcraft where the cooldown on a potion is 0 seconds, or even 5 or 10 seconds. It would trivialize every single difficult encounter. It would also make PvP pointless and ridiculous. If I remember correctly, WoW's cooldowns on consumables is 2 minutes. Ours is only 1 turn.

Overall, I really don't think the potion cooldown is game breaking by any means. All it does is force you to focus more on enemy mechanics and your strategy rather than ignoring everything and chugging 40 elixirs in a battle. If you're in a circumstance where you have to use an elixir every single turn for an entire battle to win, most likely you're not following the fight's mechanic or you need to find a way to improve your party's balance.

And lastly in regards to old elixirs, you can simply use the old low level elixirs out of battle as potions if you feel they are not good enough to use during battles.

I would like to at least offer a counter-suggestion since we can't remove the CD at all.

Can we at least have a potion/elixir that will heal the whole party? As it stands, this latest final boss deals a LOT of damage. And not just to one party member. With potions having a CD, it makes it much easier for our entire party to be wiped when a huge chunk of their HP is being ripped out in a single attack (I've had 30-40% get lost in one hit). When we're forced to pick and choose which pet is needing the heal the most and then getting stuck with a CD, not only are we quite possibly sacrificing one of our members, but then we have to spend our next turn figuring out whether it would be more beneficial to heal the ones still standing or res the one that died. Rinse repeat for every CD we have to do this for. (And yes. Currently I'm sitting on a team of mostly level 59s, all with purple or better gear, and I'm still getting wiped before I can bat an eyelash.)

@Shadowphyr,

Yep. We are planning all sorts of goody consumables for the future. They will be available via our Crafting system which we plan to release along with the 3rd Region.

As far as the heavy damage, you may be messing up the first mechanic of that fight which can cause a great increase in the amount of damage she deals throughout the fight.

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM.

Well that's good, if not still a fair bit away.

I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing wrong, unfortunately there's no real easy fix for it. Just an entire party rearrangement and swap to prevent the otherwise unavoidable from happening with my current group. =/

@Shadowphyr,

You could try using just Focused Attack instead of other certain abilities.
