Could somebody explain food units to me and the different kinds of food units? Thanks in advance!

Regular provides 1 hunger unit per food unit.
Premium provides 2 hunger units per food unit.
Exceptional provides 3 hunger units per food unit.

Every day, each pet's hunger goes down by 1 hunger unit. So 1 unit of Exceptional Feed will feed 3 pets per day.

When I bought exceptional feed, my normal feed disappeared! Is it just kept somewhere else?

Yes, buying another food than your current food totally
seem to remplace your "old" food by the new one you
bought~ :3
Though I wonder now if it was intended, because it can

Yes, that is how it's set up to work. It's not a very good system and we will look into improving it in the future.

To expand on this, when my food bar was full (like I'd just bought food) I accidentally clicked on the Restock Food again, and when the pop-up came up (I did not confirm purchase), my food amount went down to 50%. I've always used Exceptional food, so that should not have been the issue. It only happened once because I'm very careful to not accidentally click on it when my feed is full again. That's why I didn't report it as a bug, because I wasn't able to confirm that is what happened, or if it was just a random site error.
