Hidden traits are what happens if a pet has a carried trait that is different from the visible trait in the same slot. This usually results from a pet having parents with different traits in the same slot, so each parent passes down a different trait. It can sometimes occur in wild pets as well.

For example,

She has visible Nekomata Tail, but has hidden Ice Armor. (she was captured from the wild, so the traits were created randomly)

Profile Page:
Gene One: None
Gene Two: None
Gene Three: None
Mutation One: None
Mutation Two: Nekomata Tail
Mutation Three: None

Advanced Search:
Gene 1: (NN) Nothing
Gene 2: (NN) Nothing
Gene 3: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 1: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 2: (CJ) Nekomata Tail
Mutation 3: (NN) Nothing

If it was a bred pet, and say the father was visible Nekomata Tail, and the mother was visible Ice Armor, the offspring would be the same as the example given above, visible Nekomata Tail with hidden Ice Armor.

So this means when this pet is bred, there is 50% chance of passing down either Nekomata Tail or Ice Armor to the offsprings.

The visible/dominant trait is the one that comes first alphabetically. So A > B > C and so forth. You can see which trait correspond to which letter by using the dropdown list in the advanced search.

You can only see hidden traits (on the advanced search) if the pet has been genetically tested.

*has to play around in generator now :p*

Okay, that makes sense now, when the traits are purple, in search, they have a hidden one. Green is just carried thats all and blue is just pure visible. I used to think that was like rarer or not of traits. Merp. I get it all now ;3 Thanks for helping me c:

and imma keep this post in my profile so i remember :D

Yep, that's correct. And you're welcome. ^^

Btw, you can't generate hidden traits. You can only find them (rarely) in the wild, or breed them.
