Welcome! I decided to make this guide because I noticed several players struggling with how to price their pets, and items. (Note: For now this guide will focus on pricing pets, but I will probably expand it to include other areas of Sylestia)

Post 2: Checklist
Before setting a price, ask yourself these questions. Every factor below can change your pet's value.
1. Theme and Type
- Is the pet Themed or Unthemed?
- If Themed:
- What kind of theme? (Exclusive Wheel, Fabled, Festival, or Zone?)
- How rare is it? Wheel and Fabled themes are typically the most valuable.
- If Unthemed:
- Is it part of a project or just a random breed?
- Unthemeds without strong traits or stats usually don't sell for much.
2. Species
- Some species are more popular than others.
- For example: Zolnixi themes often sell better than Draeyl.
- Popularity affects demand, therefore also affecting price range.
3. Traits
- How many visible traits does the pet have?
- Which traits?
- New, Restricted, and popular traits raise value.
- Good aesthetic combinations also help. Not everyone wants a cluttered 6-vis.
- Genetically tested pets are worth more since buyers can see carried and hidden traits.
4. Stats
- Stat quality can make a huge difference:
- Max Stats (2000 HP, 200 Mana, 100 Str/Int/Dex/Agi) ~250k infertile
- Superstats (with +stat bonuses) 500k+ depending on bonuses
- Mid-level stats (50-80) add some value
- Low stats add little to none
- Always compare similar pets in the Advanced Search to check realistic pricing.
5. Projects
- Projects represent player investment: time, dyes, philters, breeding, etc.
- Project pricing should reflect both effort and demand.
- Before starting one, check whether your intended final design has buyer interest.
6. Supply and Demand
- The market constantly shifts.
- High demand + low supply = higher prices.
- Oversaturated species or themes (like 6-vis fertile Nixis) will sell for far less.
- Use the marketplace and chat to gauge what's currently in demand.
7. Regen Pets
- Regenerable pets are often desirable, especially for revamped species.
- Price varies with how many trait slots can be chosen and species popularity.
8. Using Tools
- Advanced Search:
- Search by theme or trait set, sort by Price: Ascending, and compare listings.
- Make sure to include Purebred results if relevant.
- Themed Pet Codex:
- Shows average sale and breed prices for tagged and purebred versions.
- Use as a reference, but adjust for your pet's unique stats and traits.

Post 3: Unthemed Pets
Unthemed pets make up the majority of Sylestia's population, but most have low sale value unless they have something special going for them.
1. General Pricing
- Common, Uncommon, or Rare wild-caught pets from Regions 1-3 usually don't even cover trap costs.
- Epic wilds from these regions also tend to sell poorly.
- Lost Grove Unthemeds can be exceptions if they have Restricted Traits or strong wild stats.
2. What Makes an Unthemed Valuable
Unthemed pets can sell for a decent price if they:
- Have Restricted traits or recently released traits (especially if unbred, for extraction)
- Belong to a project line (6-vis, max stat, or themed-color designs)
- Have high stats or Lost Grove origins (Epic, Legendary, or Mythical)
Typical price expectations:
- Random Epic Wilds: a few hundred gold
- Lost Grove Legendaries/Mythicals: can fetch much higher due to +stats
- Unbred LG Rares w/ Restricted Traits: tens of thousands
- Random-bred Unthemeds: usually unsellable unless part of a project or very aesthetic
3. Key Takeaway
If an Unthemed doesn't have a purpose (project, LG stats, or rare traits), it's usually best to release it or keep it for personal breeding.

Post 4: Themed Pets
Themed pets are among the most traded Sylestis on the market, and their prices vary widely.
1. Factors That Affect Themed Pricing
- Theme rarity:
- Wheel and Fabled themes are highly valuable.
- Zone or Tamed themes are more common and cheaper.
- Species popularity: Some themes are valuable because their species is popular.
- Traits:
- More visible traits can raise price but quality matters more than quantity.
- New or restricted traits increase value.
- Stats:
- High-stat or LG-stat themed pets sell for much more than standard tamed-stat ones.
- Demand:
- Always check the Advanced Search to see current prices for your theme.
2. Tagged vs. Purebred (PB)
- Tagged: Caught directly during the event, carries an official tag.
- Purebred (PB): Bred from tagged parents, inherits the theme but not the tag.
- Tagged pets are generally worth more, but PBs can still sell well if they have desirable stats, traits, or 6-vis designs.
3. Old vs. New Themes
- Older themes: Often rare and expensive.
- New themes: Start high after release, then stabilize as supply rises.
- Lost Grove (LG) themes: Epic+ rarity can easily start around 30k+ and rise into hundreds of thousands depending on stats and traits.
4. Example: Theme Price Comparison
- Regular themes: 1k-10k
- Fabled themes: Commonly 50k+ tagged (dependent on species)
- LG themes: 30k-500k+ depending on rarity, LG stats, and Restricted Traits

Post 5: Project Pets
Project pets are a huge part of Sylestia's economy, and are the most variable in price.
1. Breeding Costs
Before pricing, add up your investment:
- Essences & dyes
- Philters (Stat or Trait philters)
- Time multiple generations take effort
You won't always recoup every expense, but knowing your total helps you set a realistic baseline.
2. Market Comparison
- Always check Advanced Search for similar projects.
- Compare:
- Fertile vs. Infertile
- Visible count & traits
- Species popularity
- Stat level
- If no similar listings exist, run an interest check in forums or chat.
3. Stats and Traits
- Max Stat projects: ~250k infertile
- Superstats / Supermaxes: 500k+ depending on +stats
- Themed PB projects: often more valuable than unthemed ones
- Fertility changes value significantly. Most breeders keep max stats infertile.
4. Supply and Exclusivity
- Limited offspring, infertile lines, or rare trait combos = higher value.
- If many players can breed the same thing easily, prices drop fast.
