I am sure a decent portion of ya'll have heard this story once or twice from the other times I've came back, but ya, I've returned again. Hopefully to a much more permanent effect this time round. I am not sure I want to get into a big group roleplay yet, for a few reasons so a small group or one on on would be preferred. Anyways, I really want to get back into roleplaying here again cause I always had good experiences. I am a pretty decent writer and generally try to avoid one sentence responses where I can. I have a couple characters I wanna throw into play again and I mostly do high fantasy but I am willing to give (almost) anything a go. Anyways, I will throw a short description of a few of my OCs down below so ya'll can get an idea of the types of characters I play. I am willing to make new ones though or use others. This is just to give ya'll an idea.
Avalee Rineheart: Possessed by a minor spirit who helped her to find a magic guitar which compels people to listen to her music. While the spirit used to have a great deal of control over her, she now has it mostly controlled and calls it Fell. She is generally cheerful, sweet, and talkative, and she loves animals, even owning a pair of dogs which travel with her.
Ilona: Possesses a magic sword known as Oren. The sword has granted her a great deal of abilities, including elongated life, but draws from her memories, slowly eating them away. She is generally honorable but has long since forgotten her reason for possessing the sword and why she cares to protect people.
Veles: A dragon half born who is generally very reserved but extremely protective of those he cares for. He leads a simple life, after having barely escaped an arranged marriage by his noble parents.
Ven Mossi: A scholar and magician who ran away from her cultish home. She loves reading and learning, but especially about magic. She takes on apprentices often, but is a hard teacher. She was deeply affected by her time in her birth home, which she readily acknowledges, even incorporating a symbol used by the cult to mark her for her wrongdoings as a central part of her outfits. Further, she has maintained many strange mannerisms from her time there.

Hey, I'm Jie and I'd love to roleplay with you! I got back into it myself a few months ago, and I usually respond every two days with a few paragraphs, though I'm very flexible with schedules and the like.
High fantasy is one of my favorite settings, especially with an extra detail or two tossed in like post-apocalypse, dragon riders, familiars, or knights/protectors of the people. I got more details plus original plots if you want to hear more, but I'll save that for later. ^^
I also enjoy playing around with character motivations/backstories and seeing how we can make both of ours intertwine. With that, I could see some fun coming from one of my characters searching for Oren and joining Ilona on her travels while remaining unaware of what her sword truly is.
I'd love to whip up some more plots/settings with you, if any of this interests you!

I like everything you are saying so far. I am generally good at responding quickly, but I am not currently US based so if you are, at least for the next month before I move back, I will probably only respond in the mornings or evenings.
In terms of writing length, I always try to provide, at least, 3 sentences but on most days, I can usually write a paragraph in response. It just depends on the kind of day I am having, and how much the other person is putting in, but you seem like you can definitely give me plenty to work off of, so I feel like chances are, I'll be rising to meet your standards and not the other way around.
I really like your idea but I am also willing to throw more ideas around if you'd like to have a variety to choose from. If you want more information on Ilona and Oren though, I can give you a better, lengthier description of both.

That sounds good to me! I don't have expectations for post length or response time, so feel free to write as you like. I just don't want to set the bar too high for myself, haaha. :>
I'd love to do that plot too. I have a few ideas with some sort of navy officer is hunting for Oren as a way to protect her country after monsters from sea destroyed her fleet and began raiding the shore or someone with experience exorcising spirits searching for an estranged friend (who could play a part in Ilona's backstory?) and eventually learns about the crimes of said friend.
I'm leaning towards the first, but I'm not quite sure yet. I'd love more info on Ilona and Oren, but no pressure if you're not sure what you want to do with them yet.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I had some stuff come up last couple of days.
I like the first too. I think it would be interesting for Ilona to be trying to help your character but both of them just don't seem to realize what is actually going on.
Okay, so, about Ilona. When she was younger, she sought out Oren in order to protect her people. She found it in this temple, built to protect it and warn others of the cost by the precious owner, in which she took on the grave price of wielding it, her memories. After saving her people. She decided she wanted to move on to help others, but as time went on, she has forgotten where she came from and why she started seeking to help others. This has led to her having a somewhat off-putting personality and a declining sense of motivation so she still seeks to do good, but it is more out of obligation rather than genuine desire.
Now, about Oren. Oren was once a man possessing great power. He was somewhat benevolent, but often more for the notoriety it brought him and not the genuine good. He became sick and wanted to perform one last great feat so he might be remembered, so he created the sword to be a relic that would carry great power, including his own. However. It went wrong and his very soul was transferred to the sword. It was passed from many hands but was often misused. When it finally came to its last owner before Ilona, Oren managed to convince them to perform a spell that would force the wielder to trade their memories for his power, as he did not want his sword to be remembered for evil. His hope was that, as their memories faded, even if the new wielder had bad intent, he could slowly imbue a sense of honor in them.

No worries, I don't mind if you take a few days, or even a few weeks. Besides, I wasn't online either, so I can't judge :^
Also, I love the story that you've built for your characters, that sounds amazing! I could see some fun coming from my character being generally upright but adopting loose morals when it comes towards her country. She'd probably raid the temple (or have already attacked it) if she thought that it'd get her closer towards Oren and saving her people.
