D stopped,looking to Kate with worry at the shudder. "Kate okay?"

She nodded. "I just really like your singing."

She sighed in relief. "Phew...okay."

Kate pulled back and glanced at the clock. "Oh no! We're going to be late for work!"

"Work! Right!" She said,nodding. She carefully began running frail fingers through her soft blond hair,the faint knots coming out easily and her motions clear that this was how she'd done it for years.

"C'mon!" Kate was in such a hurry that she forgot about D for a second before turning around to see if she was coming

She followed,smiling as she glanced back. She was braiding her hair to the side. But the strange thing was that she didn't have a rubber band,did she have some way of her own to bind the hair?

Kate wondered that and was almost worried about what tactic she had.

D carefully clicked her fangs and lit a small purple flame,swirling it into a circular shape around her finger before using it as if it was a rubber band. Odd,she seemed to know it was safe. She seemed to have done it a lot too because her fingers worked quickly and with skill.

Kate watched with amazement
