Kate took deep, shuddering breaths, attempting to calm herself. D's singing definitely helped, though.

She paused only to whisper "I love you Kate" softly,fitting the words together to form a normal phrase before she gently continued.

She finished the song but didn't let Kate go,not convinced that she was okay yet. She then started "A dream is a wish your heart makes.",forcing her words to fit right so that it sounded correct.
