Just then Pyro walked in with a hooded figure behind him, "Hey Pyro, Kit." Hedge said with a smile, the hooded figure pushed back her hood, it was Kit, Val's eyes widened, "M-mom?" she asked, the black fox smiled, "Hi Valery." the two hugged.

Red nodded and smiled. You're welcome. He spoke into Val's mind.

Val shot Red a glare, "Unless you want to be seriously injured be quiet." she said, but not aloud.

I'm not tangible. Red reminded her, but in a way that said 'I'm kidding, just relax and enjoy yourself,'.

He turned his attention to Kit as Scarlet joined the hug. You've grown since I last saw you, Cockatoo. Sorry I've been hiding from everyone these last few years... We'll talk later, okay? He thought fondly.

Kit noticed Red, "And who's this handsome fellow." she said ruffling his head fur, Val smiled, "That's Kn- Red." she hoped no one would notice the mess up, Kit smiled, "Well, Red is a very handsome dog."

Red growled. Thanks for the compliment, but don't touch me. He said, emulating canine speech.

Val sighed, "Red behave." she growled, Kit smiled, "No its ok, although he does seem familiar."

In another life, maybe. Red replied, still emulating dog speak. He remembered teaching Kit to understand wolf, and dog was almost identical.

Kit frowned, "And what does that mean?" she asked not understanding what Red meant, Val frowned, "You can understand him?" Kit nodded, "Yes, Knuckles taught me."

Red looked at her thoughtfully. We sled dogs believe that when you die, you come back as something else. Maybe we met then. (It wasn't a lie, either. Sled dogs usually did believe that.) But it's cool that you can understand me, unlike Val here. Maybe you should teach her sometime, yeah? How long would that take, a few months? He told Kit, stealthily changing the subject with the flow of a casual conversation. He'd learned a thing or two about smooth talking these past few years, trying to hide his identity from people who were even more nosy then Kit could ever dream of being.
