It's a crowd of armored unseelie. Winter soldiers. There's at least 12 of them, 5 of which are basilisks.

One of the basilisks snaps something at him and points their barb at his neck. He doesn't need to speak unseelie to know whatever they said was a threat.

They're dragged to a small camp. The tents are rough and easy to put up and take down, and there's only maybe a hundred soldiers here. Most of the soldiers are pouka, both forest and tundra. There's also some shen, though not many as they aren't much use against non-humans. The rest are all basilisks, ranging from 7 to 15 feet tall. There's also a few tamed kelpies, hippocampi, and ice-steeds, dressed in thick armor.
