(It's a good one.)
Alderic grinned at her. "Don't I get to pick the card I sign?" He asked her jokingly taking the card and pen from her writing 'Alderic the Magnificent' on it handing it back to her.

A'ine smiled at him turning to glance at Mitch before looking at Kanin. "Well, I don't know if you know this yet, but Mitch is an ice dragon..." She said looking back at him and Ember, smiling a little, they really like each other.

Mitch Smiled watching the butterfly before making an ice flower between them a foot away. "That's cool I didn't know you could do that." He said looking up at her.

Jora glanced over at him a little shocked and confused. She opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out. She cleared her throat. "Well, I enjoy hanging out with you too." She said quietly.

(Yes yes it is. XD I love it.)

Alice took the card back. "Well, you could. It doesn't make a difference. But I thought I'd save 'Alderic the Magnificent' the trouble of making such a difficult decision," Alice said, her voice dripping with teasing sarcasm. She pretended to put the card in the middle of the deck, but she concealed it in her right hand. These were the tricks she was best at, the ones that required a sleight of hand. She slipped her hand in her dress pocket, and pulled out the signed card that had 'magically' appeared in the pocket.

Kanin grinned. "I wonder if I could get him to help me out," he said. "I suppose we'll both have to get used to this place," he said, gesturing around the school grounds. "What do you miss most about the ocean?" he asked.

Ember smiled back. "I should be a movie effects artist. (Are there movies in this universe?) I could make all those strange shadows in horror movies," she joked, morphing the butterfly into a monster.

Orion looked over at Jora and grinned, "Hey, don't look so surprised," he said. He felt a bit guilty that Jora seemed shocked at his compliment. Did he act like he didn't enjoy her company or something?

(Yay for the new phone!)

Alderic watched her laughing a little when she spoke of him picking the card. "Wow, you're good." He said smiling at her. "So, do you want to do your other trick or should I do my first trick?" He asked shifting a little.

A'ine smiled a little. "I miss being surounded by the water. It feels safe to me, I feel all weird up here. But honestly, I miss my mom the most." She said with a small smile.

Mitch chuckled a little. He stopped when she changed the butterfly into a monster. "Yes, you would be great at that but you could also be a one person stage crew." He said kindly.

Jora shrugged a little looking ahead again. "Okay, I won't." She said letting her arms fall to her sides tapping her thighs with her hands.

(Yup, movies are a thing. ^^)

"Why don't you go?" Alice suggested, wanting to decided what to do. Plus she was rather interested in Alderic's act.

Kanin smiled back. "I understand. Physics must be totally different up here too," he said, half-jokingly. He glanced over at Alice, glad to see she had an audience.

Ember made the monster disappear. "You could make sets and props," she said, gesturing to the ice flower. She was getting less shy around Mitch.

"Good. So are you thinking of joining any clubs?" Orion asked, making sure they were going in the right direction.

(Okay, good. I just don't really know the time period. But I guess it's another universe, so anything goes!)

(Okay... My day sucked to begin with and now my lovely long reply gets deleted...)
Alderic Smiled with a nod. He stood up whipping his hands off on his pants. "Hmmm which one should I do...?" He said to himself before grinning. He squatted stretching his arms out in front of him before doing a backflip onto his hands before lifting up on his fingertips and flipping from that back to be on his feet before bowing deeply.

A'ine nodded to Kanin. "Yes the physics are quite a bit different from in the ocean." She said seriously before glancing over at Alderic and Alice. "Is Alice competitive?" She asked watching Alderic do Hus flip after Alice did her trick.

Mitch chuckled a little. "Yeah, actually I usually doubled as prop master for the theater group I'm in back home. Because of that very reason.$ he said smiling a little.

Jora shrugged. " I thought about joining the art club but I'd have to share my drawings and a lot of them are personal." She said quietly glancing at the lake shivering a little.

(I'm sorry! That sucks. I hope you have a better day today.)

(When I read your reply at first, I thought you said: Alderic stood up, whipping off his pants. XD)
Alice raised an eyebrow, knowing she had been beaten soundly. "Impressive," she said, wondering how far he could push his athletic abilities to impress the crowd. "So now for our magic abilities. Should I go first?"

Kanin looked over at Alderic and Alice. "Yes, she is very competitive, but she's not a sore loser. Except when I beat her," he said, laughing slightly. "And she must be rather impressed if she complimented him," he added, slightly surprised.

"The props must be amazing......Can they melt?" Ember asked, out of genuine curiosity. She hoped she hadn't offended him by suggesting his props were delicate.

Orion looked over at Jora. "I am sure you could pick which drawings to share. Many of the club members probably feel the same way. I know I do." He looked at her again. "Are you cold?"

(XD Miss spelling can do that, and I spell bad.)
Alderic's grin broadened at her compliment. "Why thank you. It took five years of practice to do that without landing on my face." He said smiling still. Alderic wasn't really the competitive type but he was skilled with his acrobatics. "You first. I wanna see this." He said sitting back down watching her keenly.

A'ine smiled a little. "Well, Alderic doesn't seem to be much of a competitive person. He just out does People on accident." She said yawning a little. She had never stayed up this late.

Mitch nodded a little. "They're okay but they do melt and they are cold so they had to add gloves to most of the costumes." He said chuckling a little. "If you're so curious about the world of theater you should join the group with me"

Jora shook her head she didn't like sharing her drawings with people. She didn't really like showing them to Orion but she felt that she could. "Still, I'm going to pass." She said trying to sound causal. "Well, I am a little cold." She said feeling her own skin being warm to say the least.

Alice smiled. "Well I can't do it period," she said. She opened her backpack and dumped it's contents on the ground, well away from the fire. The whole backpack was stuffed with playing cards. She hadn't done anything with them in a while, since she didn't have an opportunity on the train. She raised her hand, and with a few flicks of her wrist, all the cards simultaneously flew into the air. They formed a castle of cards, taller than she was. She stopped using her magic, and the cards remained in place, much to her relief. Often, the second she stopped using magic, they would all collapse. This time, all the towers and spires stayed in place.

Kanin grinned as he watched his sister play with the cards. "You seem tired," he said to A'ine, with a bit of concern in his voice.

Ember became flustered. "Ah, um, but I don't have any experience," she said nervously. She hadn't really thought about joining any clubs, and the notion of being a newbie rather scared her. She turned to look at Alice's card house, gasping slightly in amazement.

"Well, I won't pressure you into it," Orion said. "If you're cold even with my jacket we should probably hurry back," he said worriedly.
(Orion is such a dork. XD)

Alderic watched her laughing a little as the cards flew through the air. He stood when they landed clapping. "Bravo!" He said smiling. "That was quite the show!" He said pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose.

A'ine yawned a little with a smile. "Just not use to late nights. It gets dark in the ocean sooner then up here.

Mitch clapped when Alice did her trick before turning back to Ember. "You don't have to, it was merely a thought." He said looking over the lake.

Jora shrugged a little. "I'm fine. Just a little breeze." She said quietly looking down as she walked.

Alice grinned, and with another wave of her hand set the cards floating back into decks, which she put back into the backpack. "Thanks. Your turn," Alice said, turning to give Alderic her full attention.

"We're in such close proximity with the north pole that we rarely see the sun in winter," Kanin said, flicking his ears lazily at the sound of the falling cards. "And in summer, we either stay up very late, or go to sleep while it's still light out," he explained.

"I might," Ember said. She didn't want to do homework every single day after school without doing something fun.

Orion nodded. He didn't particularly like the cold either. He was fine with cold water, but cold weather was not his favorite. "It is rather chilly tonight," Orion agreed.
