Val sighed, "If you could still see my mom ever though your dead, why didn't you at least see her." she asked looking at the echidna with a sad eyes.

"She's not the only person I havn't told," Knuckles replied. "Look. Spirits arn't what this world would define as normal, so I keep a low profile to avoid causeing people to freak out and get the feds involved...."

Val looked at the echidna, "I understand that, but sometimes I heard my mom cry so hard I had to cover my ears to keep from crying myself."

"And I'm sorry to hear that," Knuckles replied. "But what would you do in my... situation,"

Val's ears drooped, "I would stay hidden." she replied.

"Now do you get it?" Knuckles asked, still collected.

Val nodded, "Did you know my mom well?"

Knuckles folded his arms. "She was okay. Just okay. Kept trying to get near the Master Emerald while my back was turned which deove me nuts... Other then that she was a bit annoying, but fine,"

Val looked down, she hadn't known her mom that well, her parents were away or in the workshop.

"Is...Something wrong...?"
