"here a few weeks around a month ago." he padded to the pillow and reached under it, getting out a miniature knitting kit and he began knitting something he'd already started, a colourful rangoli pattern.
(I almost put knight kit..)

I came and sat down near him, watching him knit for a minute before my curiosity got the better of me. "Why was she staying here? When did she leave?" I ask

She tilted her head. An assassin trying to kill someone wouldn't openly show themselves. Unless they were trying to distract them. But if that were the case, why would he say that he was an assassin? 'To make me think that very phrase and put me off guard.' my mind supplemented, but I had already decided that he most likely wasn't a threat.
"Well I hope you aren't here to kill me." She joked dryly. "So, you always sneak up on strangers huh?"

"Hmm" I murmur, my eyes were starting to droop. It sounded like these old people loved to help people out, it was so nice of them to let people stay with them
You get used to it. I was born too fragile to ride. If they set me free, I would die slowly and painfully instead of a quick death. It's not like they abuse me here.
"Still, there must be more to life..." I sigh and trail off.
