It seem to be a strange patern on it, a kind of control patern extremely complex. It seem to be out of order but maby you can have some indication on how it was used.
try to figure out the pattern and ask the wolves if they have any guesses

The cristal was miror like, it was reflecting the whole part of the cave. You could notice that the wonderer was cautionly circulng around the discarded flower glaring at it.

The patern is composed of dot and lignes, it seem like they change their colors depending on the brightness around them. It shine a bit before generating a seemingly colorless flower, the headgr however was cover in deep green vine like patern.
