It is extremly sturdy, you did manage to remove a chunk of it on the tail of the creature, taking in the samr time a small vertebra that was still stuck in the material.
Try to remove the bone

The cristal was too sturdy to be remove but you were still able to see the bone clairly.

The room seemed empty asside the vine and the skeletton in the hole. But after closer inspection, you notice on the side of the wall a small panel of some sort.

Inspect the panel too see if it has anything written or drawn on it

It seem to be a strange patern on it, a kind of control patern extremely complex. It seem to be out of order but maby you can have some indication on how it was used.
