(*gathers notes* I always confuse the games Lucky Duck and Nine/Golf, with a few other card games, so the game I'm thinking of may not be Nine, but its a card game. Golf is another name for the Nine game I believe... No matter which one I'm going to describe, this game is really fun!
The objective of the game:
You try to get the lowest amount of points possible!
To set up:
You shuffle the cards and spread them face down on the table in front of the people playing. Make sure everyone can reach them. They can't be too close because you'll need room for nine cards in front of you.
Everyone picks nine cards and sets them up three by three in front of themselves. Don't flip all of the nine you choose just yet, just two!
Now, you will have nine cards in front of each person apart, two flipped over.
There should still be untouched and not flipped cards in the middle - you may need more than one deck of cards depending on how big the group playing is. Only one person flips one card. This single, flipped over card in the middle is now the discard pile. These middle cards are what you will need on your turn.
On your turn:
When your turn comes around, you will grab one and only one card from the middle - it can be the top one of the discard pile or one random card from the unturned cards. You can exchange it for one in your hand - the nine in front of you, flipped over or not flipped over. If you choose to exchange it, you let the new card take the place of the old card. The new card is now face up in your hand. The old card is then discarded, face up.
The next person can choose to take from the discard pile - the top one - or the unknown cards. They chose which card to flip over and then exchange it.
The end:
The game continues until someone flips over all nine cards. When this happens, everyone else gets one more turn. Then the game ends and you have to flip over the remaning cards in your hand and count up points.
Things to take note of:
I've never had to explain this game to anyone else before, so if you are confused about anything, please let me know!
Other things to note:
If you get three in a row of one type - say you get three queens all lined up - then you get to wipe out that row.
If the youngest member of your family keeps winning, don't get upset. XD You get used to it after a while and once someone else finally wins it's a sweeter victory.
Points are counted by the number your card represents. A five will be five points, an ace will be one, a seven will be seven, and so on. Remember to try and get the lowest amount of points!
Some exceptions to the points for the number are the following:
Kings count as zero points.
Jokers - if desired to be played with - count as negative five points.
Most important thing to remember: Have fun!!!
Any questions? I'm sorry my notes probably aren't the clearest.)

(It's very fun. You're very welcome! ^w^)
Like usual, Jacob was most definitely not winning.
Kiara was doing fairly well.
Parker was doing much better than Kiara.

The game ends soon enough. Jacob knew he had lost. Parker had the most points between him and Kiara.
Ray was falling asleep against Jack.

Ian had more points than Parker, just by a little.
Jack was sitting with Ray on the couch, passed out already.

Parker promised he'd beat Ian next time. Kiara called it a night and went to bed after putting away the game.
Ray tended to keep themself up at night on accident with all sorts of random ideas and facts and conversations and things running and playing through their head. They had a hard time turning it off and falling asleep.

Ian chuckled. "Sure, I can't wait to see that next time." He wasn't lying.
Jack fell asleep easily, but being a guard he slept lightly.

And so, when everyone decided to go to bed, the night stilled. It wasn't too warm but not dreadfully cold. Near midnight, when people were usually asleep, someone entered through the front door, which wasn't locked. She glances around the house, her dark, cold gaze soon resting upon Ray and Jack. Lilith nods to herself, watching the two slumber peacefully. Or not so peacefully. Ray was talking to themself and twitching, sometimes violently shuddering. "Sorry, Ray. You're wanted, dead or alive. I think it'll be much more simple to kill you. If I let you live, you'd make it very hard for me to take you back." Lilith says, sauntering forward and taking out her short swords.
"No! No, no. My pancake." Ray mumbles. Lilith smiles at the comment and looks to Jack. "And I'll have to kill your friend, too. He'd make it difficult. You're a very terrible friend, Ray. I recall you telling me that someone else died because of you." She shrugs and cuts off her quiet chatter as she raises her swords to end the two.
