A...a purr? Riley looks up at Shade questioningly before pausing and heading back to the position he had been in before, trying to keep quiet and stay still. Slowly, he calmed down, his heart wasn't racing as fast, and he wasn't as scared as he had been before.

Shade put his arms around Riley this time as well as his wings,as if to shield him from everything. He still didn't look at Riley,keeping the calming sound up. It didn't sound angry,like how he looked ready to rip someones face off.

Riley started to doze off again, curled up against Shade, glad Shade wasn't ripping his face off. When Shade puts his arms around Riley, Riley freezes slightly, unsure how to respond exactly. Riley hesitantly wraps his an arm around Shade, hoping he was doing the right thing in this situation.

He sorta wasn't,Shade wasn't one to cuddle and this was very uncomfortable to him,but he made no move to ram his tail through Riley at any point,or at least at the moment.He just left Riley do what he would need to in order to be calm.

Riley hugs Shade like a child might hug a stuffed animal, glad Shade wasn't killing him for this. You are terrible at reading people's emotions. I know, hush. He answers his own thoughts, starting a silent conversation with himself before cutting the conversation in its tracks, trying to fall back asleep. The first day - crazy. The first night - testing. Riley could only dread tomorrow.

(I like the way Riley thinks with himself.)
Soon Shade felt that Riley wasn't asleep and so he tried to help with something he knew humans did often for those younger. "Um...."He felt so gross trying this. He softly started singing Cradles,tapping his tail on the bed in a soft beat.But the way he sang it,it wasn't scary rather...a type of calming tune.Like,it was a little numbing but a bit warm. He sang smoothly,voice calm and rid of all anger or hate. Smooth and rather rich in tone.

She then notices something a bit.. strange. Shes tapping her fingers slightly. Normally this wouldnt matter, but it seems to be in some sort of pattern.

Yeah, its definitely a pattern. Five taps with her index, followed by one with her middle. Then two with her thumb followed by a simultaneous double-tap with her index and middle. Finally a tap with her while hand followed by a tap with her fourth and middle.
