Taking the phone she scrolled through, her eyes wide as she clicked on some and watched. "These are unusually addicting to look at," she commented. "But we should take shelter somewhere before anyone catches us."

"Oh, right, I can probably sneak us into my house, I have an attic you guys could stay in" Kody offered

Eight was very confused, and also looked at the small screen. "The attic is safe. Take us there quickly," they commented in their slightly British accent.

"Alright, lets go!" Kody said, leading them quickly to his house, looking through the glass window back door once they reached the house.

"It's seems nice!" Eight commented. She tossed her dark hair over her shoulder as she looked around to make sure they weren't being followed.

"Thanks... my parents are at work and my brother's probably playing xbox, he won't see you guys if you don't talk or make noise" Kody said, opening the door. Just as expected, a young boy was playing a game on the xbox, completely unaware to the world. "Hey bro, I'm home" Kody said as he motioned for the others to come inside.

"heuh" The kid made a weird sound as didn't even look away

Eight almost giggled but slapped a hand over her mouth and tiptoed after Kody. She made sure her feet touched the floor lightly, and found herself wishing for shoes. Walking through the forest barefoot had caused her feet to be covered in scratches and she regretted it only now.

Kody led them up a flight of stairs, then carefully jumped up to grab a string, pulling down a hatch, then opening a door to what seemed to be an abandoned attic. "I spend a lot of time up there, it isn't too bad" Kody said, motioning for them to go up

Eight followed suit, but luckily had gotten a few things from a thrift store earlier in the day, nabbed from the back where they took in donations. Shoes were not lucky enough to be on the list. They too, had sore feet, which gratefully accepted the floor as a surface.

One stumbled out of the fence, hurling behind a tree. He wiped the spit and acid from his lips and wondered down the train tracks, looking for signs of life. He tried to reach out to one of his brothers or sisters to find out where they were, but couldn't. "Help..." he muttered, falling onto the tracks.
