"Wait she can stay here? What about me?" He asked, shifting into a tiger and moving to stand threateningly in her face, but ruining the effect by turning his head to cough a couple of times before turning back. "I'm a sickly, eleven year old, weakling of a child! Did you see me when those people attacked us with blow darts? You stood your ground and fought even after being hit, and I just passed out like a wimp! Do you really think I'll survive out there by myself? Heck, I won't even eat meat because of- um... personal reasons even when I'm starving and it's right in front of me! I'm not a survivor! People like you are survivors!" He stopped before finishing his rant, realizing what he was saying. He quickly shifted into a rat snake and slithered to the back of the cave, then shifted back into a human in order to cough a few times.

She was still tired, but she had enough energy to change into an Edmund and clamber up to a ledge with moss. That was where she slept. She slowly drifted off to sleep.

Caiwyn tossed and turned in his sleep, sweating, coughing, and shifting in and out of human form, but somehow he managed to stop about halfway through the night
