Crimson looks at them both. "We wanted to know if you would let us teach you to use magic..." The boy blurts out.

Blain's eyes get big. "My magic is dangerous you saw what it did to that tree." He was shaking, suddenly very scared. "I never want to use magic ever again..."

Dawn sat next to Oak and helped him hold the spoon correctly while voicing her concerns. "Mr. Blaine, you can't just ignore your magic. If you do that it will build up and release in force like it did earlier. It would be much safer to learn to control it or next time it could a person you burn instead of a tree." She furrowed her brow at the thought.

Blaine shivers. "I don't care for magic, I have a bad experience with the cursed art." (Pun intended :) he sighs staring at his hands. His finger tips blaze with a fiery red.

Silas was deep in thought , how can he convince Blane to practice magic just enough to prevent other outburst. Silas knows they were lucky with only the tree burning. Then an idea came to him. "Mr. Blane, I know you won't believe me when I say I know how you feel. But I do, my mother was a herbalist and she always helped out at my home town, but one dAy she got sick. Now I was taught healing magic that could heals wounds and repair bones, not sickness, so I could heal the damage done by the sickness but not the sickness itself...." Silas took a shuddering breath, " I was too young to keep this up, I used up too much energy. One day I just couldn't heal her, she passed one." Silas looked looked directly at Blane, unusually serious, without his trade marked anxiety or worry. "I swore never to use something so useless again, I asked myself, 'why? Why practice something that couldn't save the only person I loved?' Later on in the months ahead I had so much anger and sorrow and pent up magical energy, it poisoned my claws. Usually my claws only paralyze, not this time." Silas had a guilty expression on his face. "A young girl, who was usually my bully mocked my about my mother's death, how useless I was and how I failed her... Naturally I was angry, I attached her, good thing I was really a small dragon in my youth or the wounds itself could have killed her."
Silas looked away at the room's window. " she almost died though, all my pent up energy turned my magic offensive, my poison didn't paralize her, it destroyed her from the inside. The only reason she didn't die was because a traveling powerful healer was passing through and saw what I did. Otherwise she would have died. I..I learned that day uncontrolled magic was worse than practiced magic, uncontrolled magic find a way out not caring how, it just does. Magic itself has no emotions, no morals, it doesn't follow man made rules. But you can, you can control how to use it and that in itself can save lives. I'm not asking you to learn magic, but to control it."

Blaine thinks for a moment. "And is that what happened to the tree?"

Nicholas paced his room restlessly. He could not explain his unease. Snorting softly he shook his head and walked over to the window. He pulled it open hoping some fresh air would clear his head.

"Yes, too much energy always try to escape through the easiest focal points, yours being your hands or fingers." Silas said, noticing that Blane's fingers seemed to glow a bit at the moment making Silas nervous. "My focal points are my hands, claws and when I'm old enough, my horns can serve as a focal point." Silas said pointing to his small horns on his head.

Blaine stares at his hand, clenching it into a fist. "How can I control it?" He, for the first time, noticed the cloak on his shoulders. He pushes it off, feeling like the fear was with the cloak.

"Control is different to every person. I imagine it like water, fluid. The Magog wants to be released." Silas explains while making his fingers glow a soft blue. Silas with concentration let loose a bit of magic. Making the magic tangeable he directed it around with his finger. "Don't worry even while this is pure energy, I have total control and is a small amount..." Silas did a final swirl be fore taking out a seed and gently inserting some to the seed. The power manage to make the seed sprout. "For me it helps to know your emotions and control those also, try to not let the magic use your emotion as guidance, always be level headed..." Silas showed another seed and use the same magic but tapping a bit into his emotions. The seed then turned a darker shade and shriveled up a bit. "...or your spell can change dramatically." Silas then destroyed the shriveled seed by crushing it with his magic. He would never keep such a poisonous seed. "But you should also ask how Crimson or Dawn does it since it can vary from person to person, especially if your naturally using a different element."

"Um... I'm part grim. I can only use dark magic." Dawn explained. "Dark magic works a little differently than normal magic. Anything I say won't be useful to you." She lowered her head. "Sorry."
