what is the point of doing this with puffs? What about the other non fabled species? zolnixi, etc. Puffs are not fabled so they should be sold cheap in my opinion or sold accordingly. I often search for cheap puffs myself.

Puffadore should cost a lot so you can actual make money all of the other pet are hard to make a cent. If this keep up maybe we can save the puffadore from becoming like the over pet that you can buy for about no money. I try to buy cheap puffadore released them or raise there price to what it should be.

Puffadores may not be fabled but they are still considered a rare species. Puffadores can't be found in the wild so they deserve to be have a higher value. For me it's not about selling the puffadores, it's about their value. Yes monetary plays into that as well, but for the most part it's about taking unwanted puffs off the market.

For what it's worth, I totally agree with you. s: (Sometimes I wonder that if puffs weren't based around...being fluffy adorable doggy/fox/whatever girls love, I wonder if they would be under as much scrutiny as say the ny'vene.)
I search for many cheap things myself -- that's the borderline for many people if they want to save money and be scrupulous about their breeding and budget.
I personally think a good portion of why puffs are undergoing this is because of their adorable art, either equal to the fact that they're a) unobtainable in the wild, or b) priced high by the game itself, which leaves breeders disgruntled when they could be earning more coin.

I think that several people who have been working on their 6vis zolnixi projects have been choosing wisely when and how to sell their pets. Veteran breeders have passed the phase where they stopped selling their masses (which is why you see newer people sell them instead).
Imo, because puffs are just as appealingly cute to the public as nixis once were (back when nixis were the only thing considered cute lol (aka puffs didn't exist)), their overbreeding to achieve 6vis or pretty projects are still going strong.
I think puffs, uncontrolled, will approach where 6vis nixis have gone.

hmm that is true, just worried about population if puffs are repriced higher. If unusable ones are being released that would work but I've seen a bunch of high priced puffs that only carry/do not carry that much.

And that is unfortunate. Yesterday I found a few 6vis nixis selling for 50g to 600g. It's disappointing to see that when you've worked so hard on a project. I'm happy that my 6vis nixis are unique for now. Hopefully they will stay that way with limited breeding to those who want to own one.
If I thought it was plausible to do this with zolnixis, qitari, or any other regular species I would on some scale, but it just seems implausible at this point.

What I am trying to do is give the puffs I buy or ones that are donated a chance to sell before being released. I price them at half what I price my own bred puffs at. I use Lost's pricing system for Puffadores. Obviously I know the majority of them will be released. My goal is to get as many of those lower quality (low GTP) puffs off the market. Now someone just starting out may want a puff with only 2 traits to do a 3vis project. It may not be the best idea to reprice and try to sell them first, but I figure it's a worthwhile effort.

Honestly, I think saying "hard work" for those products is putting words in other peoples' mouths.
People who make projects *choose* to distribute them. The project-breeders *know* that *they* put in the hard work and effort.
That's like saying I'm taking half the breeding forum's "hard work" once I purchase their projects if I choose to use the pet for breeding. It's a pet. The breeder and I both know that. People just choose to make something more of the pet than a simple picture to look at.
Not to mention people at that point of the game don't really rely arm-and-leg on the market...s:
Anyways, Cerberus, I totally know what you mean. s: Best thing to do is just not buy them (if you don't agree with prices) and raise them on your own.
The best advice I'd give to anyone is NOT to rely on the breeding market as sole income. It works for some, but not others. And taking it out and saying it's the economy's fault is something kin to capitalism imo lol.

Also, Kath, I set up a few puffs for you to exchange for points, if you don't mind.

Yea, I guess what I'm saying is that it's sad to see something that takes a lot of effort when done from scratch , or in a project, or something become so easily obtainable.
The hard part for me is thinking that I'm working super hard on these specific 6vis pets and there's a chance that they may become easily obtainable before I finish. Then to me, I just feel like I've personally wasted my time energy space and money. What can I say though. I don't start from essences. I choose to dye them at the end rather than the beginning. So it's my own fault in a way. Lol. I'm not trying to complain about it, just saying that to me it's unfortunate.
I'm that person that tries not to complain unless I'm ready to go out and do something about it.
I also have so many project ideas floating around in my head that there are times when I start one then end up scrapping it. My 6vis zolnixis are the first project I've completed in my nearly 7 months here. I'm super proud of that and I know that I control the prices of their offspring. Which is why I'm only breeding when I have buyers. Heck I'd rather release a child then put it up for public sale on my project pets.
Anyways I'm rambling because I'm frustrated with life. I'm waiting for supper to get done and I could use a nap, but it's really too late in the day for that.
I'll pick up those puffs Flute.
