Hakaishin looked over and smirked, catching a snowball about to hit his head. *oh, dont worry. I just have ti wait for the right moment.* then he spun around and PUNCHED a snowball about to slam into his chest, turning it into powder.
Ok, its official.

"Very nice," Sastrugi says, clapping her claws together in quiet congratulations. She tips her head towards the right with a smile. "Sculptors have been commissioned to create a couple of structures for the fight. Would you like to try and occupy one?"
A sweeping wing gestures towards a hazy figure, barely visible through the snow.

Hakaishin grinned and nodded, punching a few more snowballs before jumping into the shelter.
Then Tiamat flew over, his tail dragging on the ground and scooping snow up, before passing it to Hakaishin. The duo began forming snowballs and firing rapidly.
(I just got reminded of this masterpiece)

(Hakaishin may currently be launching a constant barrage of snowballs, but I feel like he's also absolutely the type to make a catapult haha.)
Sastrugi slips in behind, using the brief moments before war to form more snowballs for the duo. Given her immunity to the cold, there's no need to worry about her claws getting chilled, though a quick look shows that Tiamat and Hakaishin appear to be faring all right.
Soon enough, they begin to hear groans rising from their surroundings, as the challengers approaching are fended off by the unending stream of snowballs. Someone gets a bright idea and takes to the skies, snowballs clutched in their arms as they dive at the fort.

Tiamat grinned and kept making snowballs, occasionally throwing at enemy encampments nearby.

The dragonet swerves away with a yelp, fended off by the onslaught of snow. Still, she makes sure to fling her load of snowballs before she does, giggling slightly when she realizes that some of it has made it over the wall. A cloud of powdery snow rises as they collide with the stash inside of the fort.
Soon afterward, a crisp ringing sound cuts through the chilled air. "That's the halfway sound," Sastrugi says, taking a moment to examine the surrounding structures in the brief moment of peace. "Would one of you like to take our stash and see if you can attack one of the others camped out nearby?"

Hakaishin grinned and kept tossing snowballs.
Tiamat grinned and slowly slunk over to an enemy base unseen.

Sastrugi glances towards the direction Tiamat sets off in. The friends holed up inside of the fortress to be well-prepared and of similar age to them. "He certainly knows how to pick a challenge," she says. "It's good that he's not picking on dragonets though."
Seeing that the next challenger has yet to approach, she settles down for a wait. "How did the two of you meet?" she asks.

Hakaishin smiled and looked over before looking at the sky. *its. . . Its a long story. But its our story.
I lost my family when I was a child. Dragons killed them. I think Nightwings or Sandwings - it was dark and I couldnt tell. I grew up alone, relying on myself to survive. Meanwhile, Tiamat was out traveling, as he does. He found me and took me for an easy meal. But I had trained myself in the art of combat and blacksmithing, and I had made myself weapons. We battled for hours, and neither gave up. Eventually we tired and decided to stick together, and slowly formed the bond we have now.*
He smiled. *I wouldnt replace our past for anything in the world.*
