Suddenly, a cop car was behind them with the lights on and siren as well.

She stiffened and debated between flooring it and pulling over

D clearly became in a panic over the strange sound and lights. She started breathing heavily, holding Saph tightly.

Through the speaker, they asked her to pull over.

Kate did so. "D...hide."

D wasn't sure how, so she hid Saph under the seat in the back while she curled up quite tightly under the dash board where the space for the feet where. She put her head under her wings and tail around her curled up hunches. In the shadow, she was barely noticable.

The cops pulled up besides her, turning off their sirens.

Kate would probably have a heart attack if the police found either of them.

A man stepped out, fixing his hat a bit as he came over. "Hello, Ma'am. Apologies for the sirens and all, but we need to make sure we check with everyone we can." He said, looking down at a pad so he didn't recognize Kate just yet.

Kate nodded, not looking up at him.
