Scarlet came out of the Wispon, panicing. Holt looked bewildered. "Uh... Uhm... Scarlet! Go get Sonic and the others!!" He told the Wisp. Scarlet complied and flew off, and Holt eased Val to the ground. "C-calm down... I'll see what I can do until they get here...,"

Val stayed silent from the shock, she had never had such pain coming from her ear before.

Holt, not wanting to leave her too long but not knowing what else to do, dashed over to a mossy rock, scraped some moss off it, quickly returned and pressed the planr against Val's wound. "I've seen people do this on nature shows..." He said to nobody in particular.

Val twitched, the moss felt cool and soothing to her ear.

"Did it do anything?" Holt asked.

Val used her finger to write in the sand, "My ear hurts less."

Holter frowned, but nodded. "Okay, good."

Just then, Sonic appeared in front of them bia Chaos Control with a first aid kit in his right hand, Emerald in the left, and Scarlet perched on his shoulder. "You both alright?!" The hedgehog inquired.

Holt glanced up at him. "I'm okay, but Val hurt her ear..." Sonic grimmaced and stooped down next to her. "Mind if I take a look?"

Val curled up a little, she never really showed sadness or hurt, only happiness or the occasional anger.

"I have to look...." Sonic said, gently nudging the moss aside. His ears instantly flattened, and he grimmaced. "Yikes... what'd you do to that?" He muttered. "Hate to break it to ya, but that might need sticthes...."

Val flinched, she had never needed stitches before.
