Ash set that baby girl down

She plopped onto her butt, then began trying to figure her way around. She only was able to scoot in a circle.

Rainbow baby kept trying to get to the other baby, wanting to lick her missing eye space again.

He set mini Shade down

Mini Shade scooted over to the baby. "Waba!"

"Huh!?" She yelped in surprise, stopping her spinning. "Oh...uh..." She tilted her head around until she could see the younger baby. "Hi... Um..." She then tilted her head to look up at Ash. "Hi to you as well... wh... Why did you help me?" She asked, voice quiet and shy.

"What do you mean 'why'? You would've gotten eaten otherwise."

"But that probably would've been fine, my mother says I'm too messed up to survive in the world."

Ash scoffed. "Yeah, well I'm sure your mother says a lot of things that aren't true."

Her one eye widened and her scales blinked gray and blue until they turned lavender. "Oh... but she's mother, she always says truth. She must, she does. Yes, that is how it is."

"Everyone deserves a chance at life. Even you."

"My chance at life was to come out right. I did not, and so I lost my chance." She said, repeating what she'd been told. Her scales kept blinking random colors, uncontrolled.
