"Oooo~." She smiled, then her expression because she didn't know how to take the first disc out.

Kate smiled a little then tried to help her

They where able to get the first disc out and put the second one in.

She began watching the screen again

It flickered back to life, jolting around as Luke ran.
He was outside, it was dark with the light of the stars and moon. He ran into the lab, rushing in quickly. As he entered, a little girls crying could be heard.

Kate's brows pulled together

D watched, grabbing her tail and stopping it from tapping.

Luke panted, stopping in front of D's cell.

The little girl was crying in a corner, away from her bowls and little bed.

He sighed, opening the cell door and coming in. This time the door closed behind him. "Shhhh, hey. What's wrong?" He asked gently as he came and sat by her. He put the phone against the wall as he picked D up.

She sniffled, big round golden eyes filled to the brim with tears. "Mama!" She sobbed, grabbing tightly onto Lukes' shirt. He didn't have his lab coat on this time, just his blue shirt and brown pants.

"Ah, missing your mama?" He said, cradling her and rocking back and forth.

She nodded, rubbing her face against Luke's shirt to clean her tears.

"Hm... I can't fix your problem, but~." He said, gently setting her down. "Give me a second, I'll be right back. I promise." He said, getting up and running off.

D began crying all over again as he left. But after two minutes, he came back with a brown back in his hands.

She sniffled, calming down with him back.

"Alright, I know what works for my cousins, so maybe this'll help you." He said, kneeling down before sitting besides her.

She climbed onto his lap, snuggling down before sniffing the bag.

"I had these for a friend of mine, Sean. But, I know he wouldn't mind sharing. Besides, he adores you in the last video. " He said, voice soft as he opened the bag. he pulled out a chocolate chip cookie, and offered it to her.

She sniffed it, tilted her head, sniffed again. She then nipped it.

He chuckled. "Go ahead, it's okay. I wouldn't dare poison food, that's just sick."

Wait, so...his cousins didn't have their mother, either? Or was that just for when they were sad?

No, just when they where sad.

She then put part of it in her mouth, eyes going wide as her tiny tail wagged.

"Like 'em? I bake." He said, gently stroking her back as she ate.
