Jack hugged them back, picking them up and spinning a little.

Ray smiles, dropping one of their hands to their sword to make sure it doesn't hit someone.

Jack smiled too and put Ray down after a few moments. He kissed their nose gently.

Ray beams and hums happily. They lean on Jack, their injured leg giving them trouble whenever they try to put weight on it.

Jack nuzzled their hair in an affectionate manner. "Love you." He whispered, putting his arms around them.

Scarab was confused on who Jack was talking to, having picked up what he had said but unable to tell exactly who he was speaking to. Ray solved the mystery for them.
"I love you more!" Ray giggles, hugging Jack tightly back.

He chuckled. "I bet you do, a whole lot more."

Ray laughs nervously, "I'm not sure. You've done a lot... I've done pretty much nothing." They were listing off everything Jack had done for them in their head. They compared that with the small amount of acts they'd done and taken note of.

Ray shrugged, picking them up. "Well, doesn't matter how much either of us have done." He nuzzled their neck lovingly.

Ray giggles when Jack nuzzles their neck.
Scarab decided to crash the party, "Ok, you guys. I think that's enough PDA."
"Aren't you blind?" Ray asks them, not releasing Jack from the hug.
Scarab sighs, "Yes, I'm blind."
Ray bit their tongue before they could say something irrational and potentially say something they don't mean.
