D watched the screen with wide eyes.
---
"She's not here." He told the little girl. "But... Maybe one day, you'll get out of here and find her." he said softly.
She tilted her head, then nodded. "Mama."
"Yes, one day maybe you'll see your mom again. I pray this place'll shut down in time." He muttered the last part, so only the camera heard it just a bit.
---
Luke had ... disliked his job. What the lab did.

Luke then changed the subject. "Do you want to go outside now?" He asked her.
She tilted her head multiple times, back and forth. Before smiling and clapping her little hands.
"Alright." He gently took her hand and led her along. They went to the garden, but it had no chain link over the top, it had open sky and some other little specimens where running around or playing with one another. "You can make friends." He offered.
She waddled forward, looking around. Then she hid shyly behind Lukes' leg.
---
D suddenly seemed embarressed of herself from back then.

Luke laughed, it had been a sweet and light sound. "Aw, come on. They're pretty nice, most don't bite."
The little girl shook her head.
"Come on, I'll help." He said, leaning down and offering his hand.
She put her tiny hand into his, and they walked out.
The lizard thing from their escape was a baby here, and they zipped over to greet D.
D yelped, then hid behind Luke's other leg. "Ah!"
The creature tilted its head, sniffing the air. It blinked its big green eyes and slowly came over.
D calmed, then slowly reached her hand out and pet it. Then pet it twice. Then giggled with a cute little smile.
"See? This little guy is nice, he even doesn't have his teeth yet." Luke said, pointing to the lack of teeth of the creatures mouth.
---
She was embarrassed because now Kate could see how shy and odd D had been.

D thought she had been odd, walking on all fours most the time back then.
---
Luke knelt and then sat, holding the phone as he filmed them. "Sean is gunna love seeing her." He told himself.
Little D giggled as the lizard thing nuzzled her.
The lizard thing, smiling, started running from her.
D giggled, then chased after him happily.

But she didn't think she should because she was half human.
---
Luke then ended the video.
