I scrutinise the party member summoner for a way to turn it on or use it or... make it do whatever it does.

As your mess around with it, your finger accidentally hits the trigger and you summon starry night, the first pet you(and me) can think of. How does starry night help?

I climb on Starry Night's back and instruct her to fly up to the top of the hole.

Lucky she has wings! You're out of the hole in no time, and now you have Starry Night here with you while you explore, which should hopefully increase your chance of staying alive. Oki doke! special case! Do you want to stay in this world/box to expore, or enter a new box/portal?
