"Well that would certainly be great but I can't because they want to kill me. We may as well already leave." She looked not at all surprised that he could see and talk again. "I've seen more miraculous stuff than that, okay? Like the fact that I got us both out of the labyrinth with one slice."

"That was pretty epic. You are my hero. I am forever indebted and at your service." Zach says with a bow.
The girl stirs, sitting up. "Did I hear you right? That you got out of the Labyrinth? That you're going to leave here? Can I come with you?" The girl asks, "I promise I won't get in the way or hinder you or betray you or whatever else you may be afraid that I will do."

"No, you aren't my servant. I wanted to get out of there as much as you do. And sure, why not have another person who may or may not kill me come with us?"

"You won't regret it. I'm Charlotte." The girl says, introducing herself finally.
"I'm Zach and this is Selene." Zach says.
Charlotte grins, "Let's get out of here before the dragons decide that they can take you on." She opens the door, looks both ways, and then skips out, having much more energy than Zach felt he would ever have, especially when being woken from sleep.

(She looks like one of those people who would say "Nyah" in a really cute voice but could kill you in like a million ways.)
"How? How can she do that at two in the morning? Why is the outside world more confusing than the labyrinth. That's not how it works!" She yelled upwards as she trudged along behind Charlotte.

"Don't ask me. I always wondered where children get endless supplies of energy. I bet halfway through getting out of here, she'll be begging for a break, saying she wants to fall back asleep." Zach says.
Charlotte keeps up her brisk skip, singing a song as she did so. Zach stays next to Selene, shaking his head in wonder at the mystery child.

"I bet she won't. She passed out and about a minute later she woke up because she heard us talk about the labyrinth. Now she's skipping like nothing happened." She yawned and trudged onwards.

(Btw, the cat ears aren't real, it's just a headband. Though Charlotte is a shifter of a sort.)

"Children are strange beings." Zach says. Charlotte seemed to be the happiest being on the world at the moment. It was around three in the morning now, and they had left the Inn behind. If they wanted to get away from everything, they would have to get over the mountains.

"Seriously? You want to talk about that with a teacher? Of course I know kids are strange beings!" She stared straight ahead and walked over to the mountains as she tried to get more energy.

Zach laughs, realizing that he had said the obvious. He offers Selene his jacket. He had remembered to grab their stuff before they had left.
Charlotte races towards a small path, one that wouldn't be visible if she hadn't pointed it out. "This is the safest way over the mountain." A few meters away was a more rundown path that was obviously travelled on a lot more often than this deer path Charlotte was claiming to be the most safe passage.
