Amicus had come along with Kira, without her knowledge of course. He hid in the shadows, watching every move of every person he could see. Then he saw the woman gazing upon Kira with a psychotic grin. His eyes narrowed. He was still healing from an arrow to the shoulder, but he was still very much capable of protecting his frie- allies. He emerged from the shadows and sprinted to Kira. "Kira, move!"

The elf lightly swatted at the hummingbird. Why wouldn't that thing leave him alone? Always buzzing in his ear! The cage was unlocked and he slowly climbed out again throwing his arms about the king. "I wish we had more time to spend togerher." The elf sighed pulling back from the embrace.
"As do I Amatus, but any longer than this and people will start catching on to what I haven't been doing." The man said pushing a bit of the elf's hair back from his face. Another light kiss was shared between them. "You remember the way out?"
"Of course. How could I forget."
"Just be careful alright? The guard has been doubled tonight..."

In a flash of white the snake struck, catching the humming bird lightly in her jaws. Annoyed the king took the bird up in his hand before placing it in a tiny cage.

"Shut up already or I'll let the snake eat you." Dorian snapped though he lowered his voice when he saw the look on the elf's face. Dexion paled, eyes wide with fear. Mira couldn't know...she would use him against the man he loved. She couldn't know!

Amicus's face soured as she told him to just leave her and ranted at her for trying to protect her. "You call freezing in terror facing your enemy?" He replied coolly, his face full of indifference. "I do believe you underestimate my abilities, especially as leader. They hardly look up to me. I'm cold and indifferent and come across to them as just a neutral party. Which I am not." His gaze went to the human getting closer. "I care not what you came here for. The farewell ceremony should be done in the shadows of night, not broad daylight. So I am here, and I will fight beside you. Or I'll send you, our beloved leader, home."

as the king spoke the hummingbird lets out a long loud screach and burns up in a puff of smoke after saying far well to her master realising she could never escape with the news she carried alive.
