The wind grew and there was a sudden heat. The booming was deafening.
Wisteria's fur whipped as she lashed her tail. She turned and faced the rock, concentrating. Vines and thorn bushes grew over it. A nearby tree's roots encircled the rock, leaving it mostly hidden.
Eyes wide with terror, Wisteria glanced at the horizon. All that could be seen were destroyed forests. The haze was coming closer, and quickly. It had entered their forest.
She fell to her knees.

Seeing Wisteria fall, Boulder immediately grabbed her with his tail, pulled Thunder close with a wave of earth, and built a dome of stone around himself, Thunder, and Wisteria with stone from the earth around him.

Selene felt herself startle at the sound. She lifted up in the air at once, her wings carrying her higher up so she could she where the sound was coming from. It didn't seem to help and she tried her best to fly in the opposite direction as quickly as possible.

The haze was practically on top of the cats' forest now. Nothing could be heard except for the deafening booming.
But instead of continuing along its path of destruction, the haze emmed to stop over the trees. Like it was waiting.
All of the sudden, it stopped. All was silent, except for the groaning and creaking of fallen trees. The haze was still here. It was steaming hot. The once beautiful forest was now a dried wasteland. A sand-less desert. There was no way anyone could survive that (but y'know you did). It may be a good time to search for survivors...

The whites showed around Wisteria's eyes. Her breath was ragged. Ears ringing, she gingerly stood up in the dark dome. At least it was gone. But the terrain could not be seen from the dome. Wisteria didn't know what to expect.
"What... what was that?" She whispered.

Giving Thunder a side glance, Wisteria said, "I don't know. It was hazy... Is fire like that?" All too soon, a memory flooded back to her. "N-no, I don't think it was fire."
