"And you plan on eating it?" Casimer asked not entirely sure he wanted in on this.

"Yup." Ruby said cheerfully."It's actually very delicious if you roast it in garlic." She added. Ruby looked at his worried glance. "Oh come on, you have to try some new foods once in a while." Ruby complained. "And now that your stuck with me, i'll have you eating troll toes in no time." She smirked.

"Troll toes?" The thought itself was a bit revolting. "Fine but I'm only going to try one."

"Alright, alright." Ruby agreed. "I'll be back within an hour. You can keep walking and set up camp whenever you'd like, i'll find you later." And with that she turned into a wolf and raced into the woods.

He watched her go off. Maybe she would come back though it was doubtful. "Come on Pax, let's get going." The man sighed. They walked until it was nearly dark, only then did they stop to set up the small camp. There was a fire and the bedroll had been laid out, other than that it was just him and the wolf. Using the mess kit he gave Pax some water while drinking straight from the water skin himself.

Ruby raced throught the woods following the strong smell of the manticore. She ran until she found herself infront of a dark cave.She carefully peered inside. In the back of the cave was the sleeping manticore curled up in a ball. "Oh but this is no fun." Ruby thought. Ruby lifted her head and howled. The beast instantly awoke and growled menancingly. It lunged at her but she simply leaped out of the way. Ruby sprang upon it's back and sunk her teeth into it's vulnrable neck. The manticore shook it's head violently, but it only made Ruby sink her teeth in further. The beast howled in pain as Ruby felt it's hot blood run down her face. It's tail waved dangerously as it tried to stab her but missed. Ruby gave one last bone crunching bite before the manticore slumped over dead. Ruby looked at her shoulder. It was a bit scratched up but it was nothing deadly. She grabbed the manticore by the scruff of it's neck and smelled the night air. She sensed the faintest trace of the half-elf. She trudged throught the forest torwards the direction of the mans scent dragging the lifeless manticore behind her.

As the night drew closer, Casimer began to lose hope that his partner would ever come back. "Well I should have guessed as much." He sighed.

Ruby continued to follow the sent of her companion as night fell. After about an hour she finally saw the faint glow of the fire. As she drew nearer she dropped the manticore and called out the man sitting near the fire,"You missed me bud?!"

Instinctively his hand went to the weapon at his side though he stopped when he saw it was the wolf from earlier. "Well its about time you showed back up." He smiled.

"Sorry, took me a while to find you." Ruby said as she dragged the manticore into the camp. She turned back into a human and proceeded to snap off the stinger off the beast."You want it? It contains usefull poisons." Ruby said as she offered the stinger to Casmeir.
