The girl silently walked through the woods, her eyes darting around every few seconds as she made sure she was alone. Have others escaped? She wondered. The others who are like me, are they alive? Eight wanted to find shelter for the night, maybe she would have to get into a tree. Maybe she just should have cloaked herself from sight? No, that would put too much strain on her...

Six stopped suddenly, almost running into Eight. "Eight! You escaped!" They hugged her tightly. "This is Kody. Would you like to come with us?"

She startled but hugged them back. "Six! Yes, I escaped- but are there others?" She glanced at the other person for a second but didn't stare. "Did they escape?"

"How did you know that? Why are you leading? You don't even know where I live?" Kody asked, starting to panic again as they ran, Kody stumbling to keep up.

"Kody. This is Eight. She is a friend okay? And I know where you live because I saw it." They turned back to Eight. "Hmm. Yes, the others escaped."

Kody took out his phone, texting Jenelle about what was going on, and how he was freaking out.

Eight's gaze flitted down to see his phone. "What is he doing?" She hissed to Six. She peered over Kody's shoulder at the phone, then reached over with her hand and tapped the screen.

"Have... have you never seen a phone before? I use it to talk to people I like or call anyone else with a phone... I use it to watch videos of cats and look at memes though" Kody shrugged

She wrinkled her nose, tilting her head slightly. "And I have seen screens like this but they were different. They had them." She said, thinking of the lab. Deciding to change the subject, the girl glanced back at the phone. "What's a meme?"

Kody looked personally offended by her question. "How... do you not know what a meme is? You're a teenager! probably... but seriously, everyone knows what memes are, except for like, super old people and lame adults" Kody huffed. "But... my friend has a meme account on insta, here, just tap whatever memes you wanna watch" He handed her the phone
