Can i write a second story?
Also I have a few questions about the backstory section.
If the humans were created as a new species, which elder made them?
And what did her creation look like?
What elders are there?
Who is her sister and what's her appearance?
Sorry for so many questions, I just want to be accurate.

(also going to ping someone else since this may provide more info...but again, you don't exactly have to go too exact if you don't wanna, after all you can be creative)

@Hollybolly426:

sure, and that'll be little hard to explain if you hadn't read my book series yet, as well as some massive spoilers rofl

the humans were created by their own God lol, the monster's Ancients and the Deities have nothing to do with the human's, they 'co-exist' together in a way, while rarely never to non interacting with each other (they each have their own set of 'heaven and hell', so to sum it up simply...and in all honestly i rarely ever mention the human's side of the point in terms of creation and religion lmao, but they are definitely NOT new 'species')

the thing you need to know is, the world my book series take in, is an 'alternate earth' which is bigger and looks slightly different with perhaps some extra land, mountains and forests perhaps, and may go by a few altered country names, but it is essentially the same, as our earth in terms of religions, if that's what you mean.

Also what 'elders'? by elders i don't mean old age, just as in 'the first ones', they'd be called the Elder Ancients, or aka 'The First Ones'.

When i say sister, i mean they were found on the same day, but they have zero direct blood relation, zero physical features that are similar in a way. They only call each other sister, because again, they were spawned/birthed in close locations, and as they are all Ancients, they tend to call each other sisters.

Oh, with that being said, they don't have any actual gender, they can 'designate' themselves one for the time being, as they see fit if they'd like to. (doesn't matter even if their name seems to lean towards a certain gender too)

Although some of them prefer sitting around as a female than a male, granted they could easily switch over their genitals if needed rofl.

So...don't worry too much about calling them 'he' or 'she' they don't mind, usually they get called by the gender of their current 'build'.

Her sister, looks nothing like Caedes, by the way, and, mini-spoilers but there are debates whether her 'sister' could be considered an Ancient or not, as she may be strong, but she neither possesses the same abilities that an Ancient should have, as well as there are others of her kind, well, there were, but they're extinct (and the first species to ever become extinct, and to only survive for such a short period) , and she's the only one left of her kind when she was stumbled upon by Caedes. (one can assume Caedes kept Zaphara around due to her enchantment abilities...and the fact she can disguise said items, which makes for good traps)

Her 'sister's' name is Zaphara, by the way, shes actually humanoid, not animalish like Caedes. Her kind don't have proper growths, which leads to alot of physical deformities and bone/muscle issues, so as they get older, they become unable to stand up straight, or close their mouths properly (which is ok, they can talk telepathically if needed). However their powers of enchanting are nothing to smirk at, they're powerful enchanters, but, very poor at directing the enchantments, they'd need an item or so to aid in channeling their abilities more efficiently. Which is why Zaphara carries an orb attached to her tail, which, unfortunately due to the immense amount of magic being channeled through, has fused in with her tail.

...do you want me to still say how Zaphara looks like or no? lol

Yes, can you please tell me how she looks. I think it would be interesting to include her.

oh geez ok one second...

-pale spider-like hands with sharpened claw tips
-long, brown messy hair
-wide and pale eyes (basically white, she's not blind though)
-mouth that can stretch, but cannot close properly due to very long sharp teeth that prevent her mouth from closing
-long tail with a dark crystal ball attached to it.
-she's big, very big, and should have a long body length.

Forgot to mention, perhaps its not most necessary to admit, but someone drew an art of Caedes doing a night roam and night hunt with 'The Judge' who is in his canine form...

long story short, Caedes is rather affectionate of 'The Judge' (a little later on in the book) lol, but as far as what 'The Judge' feels, its...uncertain lol...:

...yes...yes his name is 'The Judge' no one knows his real name. (he's not exactly an Ancient)

If anyone has questions, then asks, but he's one of the ones who has a seat with the High Council.

Rhea had never really known what was beyond the Waterfall. It was not her concern, and therefore she should have focused on her own tasks. For the whole of her existence, all she could remember was life behind the waters which shielded her and her tribe. When she had tried to ask of what it was that lay beyond the curtain of safety, the elders had merely shaken their heads sadly.

"Child, the world is tainted, no matter how many times it is rebuilt."

She had carried their words as a burden that weighed her down, even as she grew and took her mother's place as Priestess to lead her tribe and worship the Ancients. It lurked on the edges of her mind, whenever her eyes glanced longingly towards the unknown against her will. It was on her Awakening Day that she was told of the truth that had been hidden from her for so long. And indeed, it was an awakening to the true horrors of a world that had sheltered a monster. A monster which now lay to rest on the same world it dyed red with pain, blue with misery, black with horror.

But for how long?

Caedes was a forbidden word behind the Waterfall. It brought a chill carried on a wind that breached stone, and even water. The word itself had an ancient feel, probing the bare surface of minds before drifting away. It was as if the name itself carried a consciousness of its own. That was the horror of memory.

"Who do we worship, mother, if an Ancient is capable of evil?" Young Rhea left the group of children whom she had been playing with. Rhea's mother, the wise Nephra, sighed, stroking her daughter's dark hair. Yet after a few moments, she couldn't help but recoil. For the darkness in Rhea's hair reminded the woman too much of things that happened long before. It carried memories, and a weight which she could not bear to remember as her own selfishness. A curse she passed onto her own child.

"Not all Ancients are evil. The sins of one cannot define all."

Rhea pondered this, before answering. "Yet shouldn't it be considered that since one can carry such chaos within, all must have part in it?"

"One's mistakes is to be learned from."

Happy with that, Rhea left, in a manner radiating a child's innocence. Yet Nephra couldn't help but feel wary towards her own child. The questions today had unsettled her, thrown her calm, orderly world off balance. She had worked hard for peace after the War. But one misstep could ruin it all.

After all, despite what she said, history always repeated itself eventually.

Rhea remembered when she and the other children were told stories meant to make them obey. They painted Caedes in a pristine little portrait. She was always the evil one. Chaos, destruction. They were taught to fear such things. But the whole of Caedes was more than they could ever begin to imagine. For one couldn't contain an Ancient entity into that of a mortal body.

Ancients were on a whole other level themselves. They possessed different standards, different morals. Mortals created their own rules based on experiences. But who could fit an eternity of knowledge onto any written object to be remembered? In the end, it all came down to memory. Memory and creation.

Rhea didn't know which she feared most.

"Priestess!" Rhea was shook out of her thoughts as the calm and silence of the cave behind the Waterfall erupted into pandemonium. Hunters poured into the caves, dripping water and leaving trails on the floor. Yet water mixed with blood, until rivers of lifeblood corrupted the haven, the one safe place where her ancestors had seeked shelter in.

Rhea had forgotten something very important in her age. A middle-aged woman was but a child in comparison to the true Elders.

A monster could not die.

"She's found us, she's found us." One man fell to his knees beside her, dead to the world. The children cried out in fear. "They have found us when our guard lay in tatters." Another prayed. Even as the end poured into the cave in the form of darkness, Rhea could feel all the disappointments, all the fears and hopes and dreams weighing down on her shoulders.

It was her fault, the Dark whispered. Her mother protected everyone. But it was during her reign that she has failed to promise you your happiness, which she swore as Priestess.
Rhea had the sickening sense that they were being toyed with. That this presented Caedes' view of the world. It carried her disgust for all mortals. She enjoyed watching the way they died, like extinguishing a candle. The world was merely her playground. There was no explanation. It merely was, just as many unexplainable things in the world were.

One by one, her people were torn apart. She mourned the fact that they could not die a quick death. She was furious at herself for allowing this to happen. If only she had done this. If only she had done that.
But there was no time. One never cared much for time, until they needed it. Then they obssessed over it.
It was the selfishness of mortals.

Finally, when all others were dead and she alone stood, frozen by whatever power it possessed, the Dark stopped before her.

Interesting. If she could see its form, Rhea would have sworn the Dark would tilt its head. You stand against me with a fool's will. Tell me, do you fear me?

A monster never goes away.

Rhea stood strong against the darkness. "It is neither death nor pain that I fear. For I accept my duty and welcome my arrival into the Second World. I do not fear you."

Then what do you fear? The Dark whispered back. Rhea kept her gaze focused on a child's hand. Because that was all that was left. She shook away her nausea, yet that hand remained, the skin dyed red from blood. Tendons dangled from where it was severed. Torn away.

They thought they were safe.

They were wrong.

"It is not the judgment of the Ancients.
It is their wrath itself."

Darkness gathered her children in her cold embrace.
