(Just gonna write for both of them at the same time, since there's no other characters in their conversation right now.)

The Luffox siblings were still thinking up possible neighbors when they reached the door to 202. Zerial pulled the key out of the bag, unlocked the door, and opened it. He was relieved to see the basic furnishings in place, such as a sofa and table in the living room section and a couple of chairs at a dining table. "Well this is pretty nice for an apartment, right?" Vilas asked. "Yeah. I guess you don't really know much about things outside the forest. You'll have to learn quick, then." Zerial said, somewhat jokingly, then added, "I'll sleep on the couch. If I even need sleep still, that is. You should go check out the bedroom." Vilas was already on her way there when he suggested that. Opening the door, she found a good size bed, a nightstand, and a small cabinet. She put her bag beside the bed and returned to the living room.

The hairs on his back stood up. "Poltergeists!" He barked fangs bared. He was ready to fight if need be but the linamara with him seemed to have other plans. Was she being nice to them? "Do you know these two?" He aske never taking his eyes from them.

"No, I don't know them, but please don't hurt them! The pink one is a ghost like me, look at her blue eyes!" Luciana begged. She flew between the two spirits and the hostile puffadore, spreading her wings like a shield. As much as she hated to challenge her new friend as soon as she met him, she didn't think she could stand to watch this escalate into a fight.


Merikh watched as two luffox went into one of the doors. The living one was a female, but he was desperate for a body after being resurrected by himself almost two weeks ago. He hadn't seen a living soul since then. He stealthily creeped to the door, preparing himself to teleport in. His incorporeal tail flicked around anxiously.

"I'm not going to attack unless they do!" Finian growled still in an attack stance. "State your names and your business!" He barked. He hated to be rude but it was either be rude or die. Aife wasn't here with him so he didn't stand much of a chance against all of them. What if there were more of them?! What if Aife was in trouble?

The two were sitting on the couch, and Vilas was telling Zerial about the past three years, "For the first year after your death, I could barely even make myself eat or drink anything. I lost a lot of weight and I'd guess I was really unhealthy. Things slowly got better after that, but I was never really happy again. It took me months to actually accept that you were gone. But there were good things, too! I can make plants grow faster now than I could three years ago, and the flowers are always prettier, too. I even figured out how to make a woven basket with those reed grasses at the lake!" Vilas stopped talking about the sad parts, and decided to only talk about happy things for now. Every few sentences, Zerial would make a joke about something Vilas said and the two would laugh just like they did when he was alive.

When Thorn noticed how terrified Fluffers was, he quickly went over to her and gave her a hug. He noticed that the lunemara was trying to protect them. She was okay, he decided. But those puffadores had to go. He would wait until everything had calmed down, then he would strike. Those scoundrels would pay for scaring her sister!

However it seemed that Fluffers wanted to make peace. Fluffers stood up, and said, "My name is Fluffers, and my business is.. uh... seeking answers" she said confidently.

Merikh was about to teleport in when he heard voices on the other side of the door. Curious, he put a large Ryori ear to the door, and heard them talking and laughing about the past before the luffox ghost had died. He had known about the resurrection from the other spirits he'd encountered on the way to town, but... the brother had been dead for two years. That meant he'd served in the army in the war, right?
Unless...
Unless the war had ended long ago, and Merikh had been dead longer than he thought.
The sudden memory of finding his own corpse bubbled up from his mind, and after several moments he realized he was trembling.

(I actually kinda feel bad for the Ryori guy. I read his character sheet and he had a sad death.)


The conversation of the past with a few jokes had turned into a joke competition between the siblings. Well, more of Zerial seeing how much he could make Vilas laugh before she needed to stop for a breath. "Hey, Vilas! What did the puffadore say to the door that wouldn't open? 'I'll puff-a this door down!'" Followed by Vilas laughing and Zerial trying not to laugh at his own joke. "Okay, I got one, I got one! How long does it take for a Bulbori to dig a tunnel in a cave? No time at all! He's already in a tunnel!"

(I apologize for the awful jokes! XD And I feel the need to explain them because I don't know how obvious they are... The puffadore one is a play on the wolf and the three little piggies, 'I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house down!' You know the one. the bulbori one is cause caves are kinda like tunnels, so... Yeah that one's just really bad. Again, I'm sorry.)

(I giggled at the puffadore one XD and glad you like my Ryori. I love angst, so i figured i should make an angsty character)


Merikh listened and had to suppress a giggle at the puffadore joke. He paused and looked around before slinking away. If he was going to take a body, he was going to take one who deserved it, not one of two siblings looking forward to a bright new future. Besides, he didn't really want the body of a female anyway. If-- no, when he was going to take a body, it would be the body of someone cruel who shouldn't have the privilege of being alive. Someone like the soldiers who had killed him, and left him on that cold mountain... he shuddered, shaking his head. He would watch the city for a few days and decide on a living being that seemed cruel. Satisfied with this plan, he began to creep to the wall to teleport back to the woods, once again wishing death hadn't made him quite so... neon.

(Yes! Still got the jokes! Jk. But seriously I love making awful jokes. Mostly puns. Awwe, Merikh's not totally evil! And he appreciates cheesy humor, which I can totally relate to. I don't really know what to do with these two now that they don't have a possible fight looming over them...)


As their fits of jokes and laughter settled down, Vilas sighed and smiled, saying, "I don't think I've laughed for a long, long time." Zerial poked her in the side and responded, "You'll be laughing a lot now that I'm back! And, hopefully get your confidence back around others." Vilas nodded and poked him back. "Have you thought about a job yet, Zerial?" Vilas asked, highly curious. Zerial just shrugged and replied, "no, not really. Figured I'd be pretty busy helping you with your ghosty research stuff."
