Daniel said, getting ready to go to the principal office "That's why I'm going to the principal office. He'd kill me if I made the call myself. He's a bit of a control freak, you see..."
Before heading to the door, he added : "I'll tell your teachers that you were with me. Take all the time you want before going back. Sorry that you couldn't go with her in the ambulance. I know legality may be annoying sometimes" he smiled sadly, and left.

Jade was shivering. She was so worried about Kire she felt sick. She stood there, frozen, staring at the bed Kire had lain in with empty eyes. Was she going to be alright ?

Vozhak had a hard time collecting himself and he saw that Jade was having the same problem. Awkwardly, he pat Jade on the back then said with a faint smile, "She should be alright, yes." He decided to take another ten minutes to pick up the pieces of his shattered spirit.

That was her?? How could THAT be her? Kire had shock painted on her face as more detail of the figure was revealed. It had long claws, a beer gut, bowed legs, and tendrills sprouting out of it's head and back. Kire was further disgusted when she found that it was male. "What are you!" She screamed in outrage and fear. "I am you, get that through your thick head!" It sneered in a watery female voice. It started coughing and spitting up the green liquid then it mumbled to itself, "This is what kindness does to ya.." After it regained itself it turned towards Kire once more to find that Kire had started running in the other direction.

Jade snapped out of it as Vozhak talked to her and patted her back. She smiled gratefully at him, patting his back in return, because he looked as bad as she imagined she looked. Even though she knew she eventually would have to, she didn't feel like going back to class, as Kire was helpless in an hospital bed.

Daniel went to see the principal, who in turn contacted Kire's parents. Apparently, he couldn't get a hold of either Vozhak's or Jade's mother, which meant they infortunately couldn't go to the hospital while shool was open. He groaned. He disliked the idea of them going back to class while not kowing anything about Kire.

After about 20 minutes, Vozhak walked Jade to her class and reassured her that Kire was in good hands before dropping her off and going to his own. Vozhak was a little worried about KIre but felt that she could get all the proper help she needed or could get at the hospital; later tonight he would ask his mother if he could go up to the hospital to see how she was doing.

Kire had her hands on her knees and was out of breath. This place went on and on and no matter how hard or fast she ran, the awful creature would appear next to her. "Are you done yet?" it asked in an annoyed tone as it leaned on the wall with it's arms crossed. Kire looked up at it, still out of breath, then finally gave in to the creature. "Ok... What do, " she huffed, "what do you," she huffed again, "want?" The thing gave an eery smile then stood up right and approached Kire, "All I'm asking is for you to hear me out, 'mkay?" Kire nodded as she still had labored breathing. "Okay. So you know about your power, " it held out it's disgusting hand and a green orb formed and swirled in it's palm, "and from what that man said, from what I know, and what you've seen, it's very powerful; it's taking it's toll on your body, spicifically your brain. As of right now you are in the ICU with doctors trying to wake you back up." Kire perked up at the mention of a hospital situation. "And for your question of where you are," it continued, "this," it opened it's arm's wide to gesture to the room, "is your mind. White; pure; untouched; until now. Things are changing, Kire." Kire began to get nervous, what was changing? Her body? Because she clearly knows that. The thing put the arm that didn't have Kire's power in it down. " I have my own power, darling, and if mixed with yours it will make yours so much better!" it put its arm around Kire who still had her hands on her knees, "Things will be so much better, my dear! All you have to do is mix yours with mine; it'll stabalize yours and make it stronger!" The last sentance it spoke was said with a darker tone. Kire started to consiter mixing hers with this thing's then asked, "But what would that do to my apperance? And what other properties does your power have??"

The thing smiled, the green ooze leaking from the corners of its mouth, "The only change in your apperance will be the color of your hair, from blonde to brown; that's it." Kire sighed then stood up. It wasn't too bad, but what about the properties of the thing's power? The creature sinced her thoughts and quickly said, "The only other thing my power does, other than stabalize, is make your have a little more.. oomf, ya know?" Kire nodded again, now content with the thing's answer, but wasn't totally sure about mixing their powers. In the back of her head she could hear the beeping of machines and chatter that she couldn't quite make out. The creature jerked her shoulder before saying, "We don't have much time left. Quickly, do you wish to merge your powers with mine?" Kire started studdering with a lot of "um"s and "uh"s. The thing grew frustraten then shouted, "Do you wish to bind our powers?!" Kire, under the pressure, blurted out, "Yes, I want to combine our abilities!" "Perfect!!" The thing shoved its long claws through Kire's back. Kire tried to scream out but it was too hard to get any noise out as the claws ran through her back and poked out of her stomach. The room started spinning and the dark laughter from the thing faded while the room grew dark again; the only light being the purple glow of the creature's eyes.

Jade was fidgetting during the rest od the day. She couldn't focus on her class, or the teacher, or anything for that matter. During her second class of French that day, she made the blond boy that was sitting next to her - she had learnt recently he was called Jonas- frown many times. She was sighing loudly and staring into space often. Her mind was wandering on Kire's fate, and the abilities, Mr Lanton, and many other things related to them. She was worried about Kire's future, mostly. She wondered at what hours did visit end at the hospital, and if she would be able to go see her after school. She had no idea where the hospital might be though.

Daniel was checking on Kire's situation by phone each time a class ended, but there was no luck yet. She had not awoken yet. The doctors said she would wake up soon though, so he was slightly less worried.

When the final bell rung, Vozhak didn't notice until other students started rushing out the door. His notebook was still open on his desk with numbers 1-17 written neatly on his paper, waiting for the lates vocabulary words. After rubbing his face, Vozhak quicly closed the notebook and shoved his supplies back into his backpack and headed off for the buses. He had texted his mom asking if he could get a ride to the hospital to see Kire while school was still in, but he didn't get a text back until he got on the bus.

When the bus hit a bump, Vozhak banged his head on the top of the bus; then when the bus stopped he was thrown forward. Groaning from the brutal stop, Vozhak stood up and swung his bag over his shoulder and stepped off the bus. As soon as his foot hit the ground his shirt was up and over his head and stuffed into his bag. He put his arms into both straps then tightened them and began to jogg home.

Once out of school, Jade immediately texted her mother, saying she went to the hospital to check on a friend. Her mother reassured, she checked the way to the hospital. She took her bike and started to follow the instructions. After a ten minute ride, she groaned. The hospital was on the top of a hill. Now, she mentionned Kire saying the road leading to the hospital was a spot where you could see the whole town. She rode forwards, climbing the hill. The road wasn't really long, but it took her 15 more minutes to climb the hill, then she finally arrived to the hospital.

Vozhak had caught his mother before she got out of her car. He quickly opened the passenger door and jumped in. His mom screamed then pulled her mace out of her purse and aimed it at Vozhak, "Get out of my car!!" Vozhak put his hands up then yelled back, "Mom, it's me!!" His mom looked up at him then punched his shoulder, "You shouldn't just jump into cars like that! You're big and threatening." Vozhak rolled his eye then put his back pack in his lap as his mom put the can of mace up and closed her door. She put the key back in the ingnition, started the car, then drove to the hospital.

Once there, Vozhak got out of the car and waved goodbye to his mom as she drove off. He walked into the lobby of the hospital and was amazed at how nice it was; the hospitals here are so much nicer than the ones in Russia. He spotted Jade and walked over to her, "Did they let anyone back?" Jade nodded, "Yes, they let her parents back, but they haven't let anybody else back." Vozhak nodded then sat down next to a younger boy who was in his blind spot. The boy looked up at Vozhak, already frightened by his size, and when he saw that Vozhak had no eye, he hid his face in his mother's jacket.

Jade had been waiting for a while now. The doctors had made Kire's family enter, but had refused to say anything about her condition to her, since qhe wasn't family. She was getting antsy waiting in the lobby, not knowing anything. She was twirling her hair nervously, getting worried, right when Vozhak entered. They waited together side by side, and Jade noticed many people were incomfortable around Vozhak. He didn't seem to notice, or if he did, he didn't mind. She thought it might be hard for him sometimes to get stared at like that.

After a few minutes of silent waiting, Jade noticed another known face in the crowd of the lobby. Mr Lanton was walking towards them, an unlit cigarette in his mouth. Even if he couldn't smoke, he always had a cigarette in his mouth when he was worried or nervous. He walked up to the two sitting teenagers and asked : "Do you know anything ?"
For the second time, Jade answered that she didn't know anything, that only her parents had been allowed inside. After this, Daniel started pacing up and down the lobby, wondering what was happening.

"Code White in room 1206. I repeat, code white in room 1206." A woman's voice blaired on the over head. Vozhak had to turn compleetly to the side, to compensate for his blind spot, just to see all but three nurses run back to the ER rooms. He had learned from health class that "Code White" ment a violent patient. He wanted to see what the situation was out of curiosity and boredom. After the comotion had settled down, Vozhak had turned back to his original position and pulled out his phone.


Kire had just started to wake up, she clawed at the ventilator that was in her mouth for about two minutes before nurses could properly pull it out. Kire felt a little strange but she passed it off as her being over sencitive about the effects of merging her power with the thing inside of her. "Mom.." She said when she looked over at her mother. "Yes sweetie?" her mom replied as she stroked her daughter's hair and cheek. "You aren't splitting from dad, are you?" Her mom was a little shocked to hear her daughter's words and came to the conclusion that Kire passed out from all the stress of the fighting going on at home. "No, me and dad are staying together." She reassured Kire as she continued to tend to her sickly daughter. Kire's father scooted his chair up to Kire's bed to hold her hand then said, " You have a teacher and a few friends that are really worried about you, do you want to see them?" Kire weakly nodded causing her dad to tell the nurse to fetch the three waiting in the lobby.
