"Two funnel cakes, please!" Vance chirps at the man behind the counter. He laughs a booming laugh, as big as he is.
"Of course!" the baker says. "A newcomer with you again, ay Vance?" He asks while piling batter through a funnel and onto a hot pan. It cooks as it hits the pan, letting an amazing smell waft out.
Vance and the baker, whose name is Arnold, continue to chat and Beckett watches with a fond smile. After both cakes are done, Arnold sprinkles an absurd amount of powdered sugar on top.
Beckett reaches into his pocket for some coin, but the friendly baker waves them off.
"Don't worry about it, it's on the house tonight, you two! Happy anniversary!" he booms with a loud laugh. Beckett can't hold back a smile as he thanks the baker, handing Enby one of the funnel cakes, breaking off a piece of the other, and poping it into his mouth.

The tips of Beckett's ears turn bright red, and he looks away from Enby, before nodding. Vance grins wide, chuckling slightly.
"Yeah, we've been together for five years today. I think part of the reason he was so reluctant to tell you was because he's been sneaking out to see me since you all still lived with your mother. Since, you know, before you were supposed to interact with the human world."
Beckett grunts something of agreement, shoving another piece of the funnel cake into his mouth. Vance laughs at him again and takes a bite as well, motioning that you should try yours.
"It's good to know. About you being pan, and stuff," Beckett says in a low voice, not making eye contact.

Beckett can't hold back a snicker when he sees his brother's excitement.
"Good, isn't it?" he asks, slipping his hand into Vance's, and Vance beaming at him in return. Beckett doesn't look at him, but his ears turn red again.
He leads you over to the wall with the wooden plaques, and the lady running it doesn't speak, instead simply handing each of you a plaque of your own before waving her hand in the direction of a table of ink and quills.
Beckett leads Enby and Vance over before Vance explains what's happening.
"So, this is really simple. Basically, the belief here is that if you write a wish on the plaques and hung it up, the gods will see it, and it'll come true," Vance says with a smile, before turning to his own quill.
Beckett stares at Enby at the mention of gads, the pupils in his bright eyes blown wide as he watches his brother in the mostly dark square.

Beckett finally removes his eyes from his brother.
He stares at his blank plaque for a while, before finally inking something down with his quill.
'I wish for the safety of this family I have here with me, and all the family that I will have in the future, The plaque reads in simple, neat lettering. Vance's, on the other hand, is written in swoopy, somewhat sloppy handwriting.
'I wish to stay this happy,' it says simlpy.

Vance smiles and quickly scribbles something on the back of his plaque.
"C'mon, let's go hang these up! Quickly, so we can find a place to sit before the show starts!" he says excitedly. Beckett rolls his eyes at the red-haired human.
"If you're wondering what he's on about, it's the fireworks show," Beckett says huffs, shuffling after Vance and being careful not to allow his wings to be stepped on.
