Ember froze when she heard Mitch's voice. She clenched her bleeding fists and stood up, turning to face him. "Just go away," she said, not looking him in the eye. She hated when people saw her like this. She tried to think of someone or something to direct the anger at. She could just use the anger to transform...

Orion walked towards Alderic, still worried about Ember. He hoped A'ine was right. "Alderic, is that a 20 course meal?" he yelled at the teenager.

Alice was finding it hard to find a reason to get mad at llandere. "Apology accepted," she said curtly. She turned her head to look around the cafeteria. She wanted to make sure no one was laughing at them. If they were, she could solve that problem in a heartbeat.

Kanin smiled slightly. "Excuse me, llandere, but have you dined yet?" he asked politely. llandere seemed to have quite a few things in common with them, and he wanted to talk with her further.

"Oh, sorry!" Saffy said. "Let's go to my room!" she said, walking quickly towards the stairs. "I'm on the top floor," she said, walking up the stairs, hoping Phinesa wouldn't mention the elevator.

Mitch stepped closer to Ember. He took his guitar off his back putting it to the side along with Ember's bag. "No. I'm not going to leave you alone to deal with someone else's bad attitude." He said closing the distance to where he was only a foot or so away. He slowly lifted one of her hands from at her side. He held his other hand over it making the air colder around it. "You need to get it out. Just yell at me or hit me if you need to. I don't want you hitting any more trees..." He said quietly holding her hand firmly to keep her from moving it.

Alderic shook his head as A'ine took one of the trays from him. "It's just too many drinks to deal with." He said smiling at A'ine. He started walking toward the table with the two other trays. "And Mitch kinda had to leave me with extra." He said wondering what had happened.

A'ine sighed. She wasn't about to tell Alderic what had happened to make her angry. "She just sort of got upset about something earlier and Mitch must have said something to remind her about it." She exaggerated with a believable thing looking at Orion.

Ilandere nodded thanks toward Alice before returning her attention to Kanin. "I have not. However, I do not require a meal at this moment." She said her hair falling further over her face then it was suppose to. She moved it back by an inch keeping almost half her face covered to hide her scar. She couldn't help remember that in addition to her scar her purple hair and her black dress made her pale skin look almost ghostly gray.

Phinesa smiled. "Wow! Finally I get to go up stairs! Saquia doesn't like it when I do." She said starting up the stairs. "Even with the goat hooves I still manage to mess myself up." She said pointing up the stairs. "But onward and upward!"

Ember looked at Mitch's hands. She shook her head. "You haven't done anything to deserve the anger," she said. She focused her gaze on the ground to keep from hitting Mitch. The person's anger was gradually lessening. Whoever it was was doing a better job of taking it out than she was. She let out a burst of shadows from the hand Mitch wasn't holding into the ground. It obscured a pool of light, and spread across the ground.

Orion grabbed some of the plates and drinks and carried them back to their table. He decided not to comment about Ember. He had grabbed Mitch and Ember's food, so he set them aside, along with the drinks.

"If you are not otherwise occupied, would you do us the honor of joining us for dinner?" Kanin asked, ignoring the fact that she said she didn't need to eat. He could ask later.

Saffy leapt up the stairs. "If you fall, your sister's gonna kill me, isn't she?" she said with a grin.
(Sorry, the ducks that made my duck tape migrated south for the winter... *shakes fist at ducks*)

Mitch watched as the shadows spread on the ground. He slowly put Ember's hand back at her side. He wasn't looking at her as he took the other one and started the same process. "Why did you run off Ember?" He asked looking back at her staring into her eyes. He rubbed her hand a little hoping to help it feel better.

A'ine sighed. "I know Mitch can handle it. He's really understanding." She said sitting down looking at Alderic who had actually seen the whole thing up close. She sighed staring at the tray in front of her. "So Alderic what do I have to try this time?" She asked lightly trying to lighten the mood.

Alderic smiled a little. "Well, I got you some french stuff and pasta." He said taking a slightly more then full plate off the tray and putting it in front of her. "I hope you like it. Of course my mom's pasta surpasses this stuff easily!" He joked chuckling a little.

Ilandere smiled slightly again. "I do believe I have finished my daily requirements, However it is not an honor to sit with me." She said her face regaining the blankness of before.

Phinesa grinned back. "Nope, she wouldn't kill you." She said seriously before adding. "She just beat you black and blue with the back of her sword." She smiled.

"I-I didn't want to hurt anyone," she answered, hoping he wasn't offended. She began to calm down, partly because of Mitch, and partly from releasing some of the anger through her powers. She met his gaze for a few seconds before turning her head towards the ground.

"Yeah," Orion agreed. He grabbed a dish of pasta from the many plates and began eating. "Nothing's better than homecooked food!" he said, agreeing with Alderic's comment.

Alice whipped around. "I'd have a heck of a lot more confidence if I were you," she said. Kanin smiled slightly, recognizing the comment as one of Alice's rare compliments. "We'd both consider it a great honor to sit with you," he said, turning his attention back to llandere.

"Well, do I get points for being close?" she asked, reaching the fifth flight. She threw a grin back over her shoulder at Phinesa.

Mitch bent down a little to where he was looking up at her face still holding her hand keeping cold around it. "You could've yelled at me more." He smiled a little. "It wouldn't have hurt my feelings." He said letting her other hand go. "Do yyou hands feel better?" He asked starting to feel a little angry at himself for slowing down. He should've stopped her from hitting the trees in the first place.

Alderic smirked. "Yup! And that's only bested by when your mom happens to cook for a whole circus!" He beamed grabbing his own loaded plate while watching A'ine slup up the noodles.

A'ine grinned. "If your mom's tastes better then this I'd like to try her's." She said smiling at Alderic taking a sip of the drink he got her. "What's this stuff called?" She asked digging into the other foods on her plate. "It's soda... root beer to be precise." He said smiling.

Ilandere shook her head dropping the subject. "How long did you travel to get here?" She asked holding her hands behind her back.

"Yes.... thanks Mitch," Ember said. "I'm fine now. People's emotions kinda turn to energy when they're passed on to me. It's easier to get rid of then pure emotions," she explained, wishing she was better at putting her thoughts into words.

"My sister cooks killer soup!" Orion said. "What's your favorite food A'ine?" he asked, wondering what literal seafood tasted like.

"About a week," said Alice, still looking at llandere suspiciously. "The snow hindered the speed of our journey," Kanin elaborated.

(Stupid migrating ducks.)

Mitch sighed relieved and hugged Ember. "I'm really sorry that you have to go through this..." He said honestly relieved she was alright. He stepped back a little smiling softly. "You sure your hands are alright?" He asked rubbing the back of his neck.

A'ine crewed what she had in her mouth and swallowed. "There was this one kind of sea-plant I really liked." She smiled oddly. "I can't tell you it's name though, it's just horse sounds underwater and I don't think there's an english word for it."

Alderic nodded. "Sounds cool." He said talking around a mouthful before swallowing and continued. "My second oldest sister, Treas, says she can go up and eat the clouds like literally." He drank some of his own soda. "It evaporates when I try it." He said his face looking a little embarrassed.

Ilandere nodded. "I was merely curious. As a larger flying monster I still can't think about how long it might take others to get from place to place." She said looking behind the two rabbits for a moment. "Do you like it here in the warmer climate?"

"Yes, they're fine," Ember replied, touched by his concern. "Let's go back," she said, turning to head toward the cafeteria. She then remembered her bag and turned back to get it.

"She can eat clouds? Is she a pegasus too?" Orion asked, smiling at the image in his head of Alderic trying to eat evaporating clouds. He took a bite, and looked around at the drink assortment. He grabbed some lemonade and took a sip.

"It's rather unsettling. I'm used to having to dress in winter garments every time I go outside," Kanin said. "I think I preferred the cold, but I am biased, since I have lived where it snows year round," he added. "I like having snowball fights and skiing, but I can't do either here. At least I can wear dresses outside here," Alice said, sighing as she looked out at the cloudless sky.

Saffy entered her dorm room and looked around the room for any sign of her roommate. "Gosh darn it all!" she yelled. She grabbed her book bag with her studying materials from her room and went back out in the hall. "My roommate is still at dinner I guess," she said to Phinesa.

Mitch beat Ember to her bag picking up both it and his guitar in a hand each. "Nope." He said smiling. "I have it..." He said putting his guitar case back on his back and held Ember's backpack in the other. He walked over next to her keeping the bag at his other side. "Besides, I'm the idiot who carried it out here." He said smiling.

Alderic nodded but waited until he swallowed to speak this time. "My whole family's pegasus. I'm just the only flaming one... And also happen to be the only boy." He said chuckling a little.

Ilandere nodded. "I can understand that. Where I am from the weather is about the same as here so I did not have to adjust to many different things." She said and thought for a moment. "I have heard stories that ice dragons can control the snow and I do believe there is one in my class." She said hopping to remember his name.

Phinesa nodded a little tired from the stairs. "Wait. You said her name was Ilandere right?" She asked as she turned to go back down the stairs.

Saquia was in her room thinking and looking at a pencil sketch of her when she was disguising in one town. It always made her cry and think of Roron. It wasn't that he himself was in there but he had drawn it for her. She sucked it up and put the picture away she knew Phinesa would be back soon.

Jora looked over her shoulder at the table Orion was at. It was a good thirty feet away. She tapped her foot rapidly thinking of what she'd say to him. "Kali, do you think he will think I'm pretty?" She asked looking back at the girl as she emphised the he. Kali shook her head and looked at her sister winking. Kaya smiled. "She thinks he'll think you're gorgeous." She said before tilting her head. "Who is he anyway? The red head?" She asked looking over at the table. Jora shook her head looking down at her food shyly.
