Peyton looks pale and unable to focus, but he was in one piece and alive - for now. With a cry of pain, Peyton rips the dagger from his chest. He takes deep breaths, putting his free hand on the wound and struggling to stay conscience as he healed himself.
The Wendigo's unnatural flames were surrounding you and Peyton. "Not random people, my dear. You are tributes."
"Tributes are randomly chosen." Peyton argues, backing away from the magic flames, looking better than he had a moment ago. The bloodflow from the wound had slowed to a trickle. He still looked a little detatched from the world at the moment, but he was trying his best to hold his ground.
"Or are they?" The Wendigo muses, stalking forward.
"What is that supposed to mean? I just think it's kind of rude to attack two innocent people for no reason other than that they were dumped here against their will."

"You're right." Nikkie pauses. "But we can't give up hope. Even if it is slim."
Victoria nods, "Finally you listen to my advice." Nikkie shakes his head.
"So if we're all in agreeance, I'll go back, get a new weapon, and meet you guys up at the throne room?" Nikkie looks for confirmation or rejection.

The Wendigo thinks about that before slowly calling the fire off enough for you to step through. It stays around Peyton though. "I'll enjoy a fight. Entertain me." The Wendigo sneers, making two fire daggers with his magic flame.

Nikkie smiles and turns into his fox form, disappearing the way he had came.
You can follow him, or there is the other path, that seems less hot - temperature wise - than the path Nikkie had disappeared down.
