Not sure if you'll understand but...
1. Get the avatar outfit you want, put on a random avi item for the things you want to swap for a different item you don't have

2. Find the avi item you want (possibly on the Trade Broker), then drag the image to a new tab
3. Drag the avi outfit from the first step into a different tab
4. From the avi item you don't have, highlight the last part of the link

5. Now, back to the avi outfit I have on, replace the unwanted item with the new one
