You say your short on coins? The best way to get coins is by sending your pets on missions. But if I remember correctly, you must finish a quest before you can do so. Are you able to access Esior Fields, the town?
Another good way to get a few coins is by completing quests. And if you go to the 'Player Guides' section of the Forums there should be one thread about how to get gold.

And what "colors" Do you mean? It looks like you've got your wardrobe figured out, so I'm guessing it's on the generator. You select where you want the color to go, then you select a color or put in a hex code and click "Save"
