It took a while to chew through her cage. The lone guard stalked the perimeter of the camp, shooting her an evil look as it walked by and triggering Grimalkins vanishing act. Finally, on the eighth or ninth circle, Grimalkins voice floated up after the guard had passed.

"There. I think you can get through now."

She went through the 'hole' and looked around quietly.
"Where to?" She whispered.

The goblin chief stepped out of the trees, followed by three more goblins. He must've forgotten something...

"Run!" Grimalkin yelled

That's exactly what she did. She ran quickly into the forest, not looking back.

Behind them, twigs snapped, snarls echoed, and the angry cursing of the goblin chief grew louder.

"This way!" Grimalkin shouted, darting into a patch of bramble. "If we can get to the river, we will be safe! Goblins cannot swim!"

"Alright." She said nodding.
'Good to know.' She said to herself as she followed Grimalkin.

Soon, they could hear the sound of rushing water. When they got out of the trees, the ground abruptly dropped away into a rocky embankment. A great river loomed before them, nearly a hundred yards across, with no bridges or rafts in sight. They couldnt see the other side because a coiling wall of mist hovered over the water, stretching as far as they could see. Grimalkin stood at the edge, almost invisible in the fog, lashing his tail impatiently.

"Hurry!" he ordered. "The Erlkings territory is on the other side. You must swim, quickly!"

"Ok ok... " She said before getting into the water.

Something flew past her arm, bouncing off the rocks with a clatter. It was a goblin spear, the bone-white tip gleaming against the stones.

The current tried to pull her downstream.

She swam sideways, going upstream so she doesn't get swept away. She swam as fast as she could.
