People are here wear little and are muscular, tough and usually covered in scars. The swords are finely made and some have jewels encrusted into them. As you gently touch ones blade, it rips through your fingers skin sharply.
I wipe my bloody fingers on my pants and examine it closer, not touching the blade this time.

It glimmers even through the clouds. Some of the other swords do that, too. It's beautifully hand crafted.

(okay, just thought I'd ask)
You do not know about your element or have any magic skills yet, so you can not make an illusion. You hide under the bushes and a bear comes out from in between the trees, carrying a bird.
I slip away, trying to get away from the bear. I want to help the bird, but there is nothing I can do against a bear

The bird is dead. The bear hears the bush rustling from where you're trying to move and stares directly at it. Currently, it can not see or smell you.

It dropped the bird, letting out a bear-roar (not sure on bear noises.. either..) and sniffed at the bush. jasper let out a small whimper.

I hold my breath, gently and slowly rubbing Jasper's back to try and keep him calm

Jasper had grown quite a bit since you first got him. The bear sniffed at the bush, putting a paw dangerously close to Jasper
