Kate's lips pursed again.

"Looks like she must be, he was assigned to that thing." One said, pointing at D. D growled low in her throat.

"Well, she probably should learn the rules around here. Ya' know what happened to Carter." Two men chuckled, the other sighing. "That was only because no one gave him his scedual." "Well, he certainly shouldn't have thought early as better. Timing is crucial. Look, these might just attack at any moment around one another."

The creature was similar to the lizard things in the dragon realm. It tried to twist its sleek, black body from its chains but whimpered as spikes dragged over its scales.

D tried to step forward to try and help it.

Kate gently tugged back on D's leash

She obediently took a step back, giving an apologetic sound to the other creature.

The people talked a little more before just walking back out, one looking a little bothered of having to keep the distance between D and the other specimen.

She waited impatiently for them to leave so her and D could make their escape

They take their time, but eventually do go back inside.

D huffed in their direction, smoke puffing out through the air vents of her muzzle.

"Okay, let's go," she said

She nodded.

She turned to the water and reached a hand to it, but she pulled back as soon as she touched it. She shook her hand out, her finger tips burnt. This stuff had some sort of chemical in it. Similar to acid. The part she had touched bubbled and hissed before going back to the water based state.

Luke peaked over the wall, he was on the other side. "I brought some wood. I forgot to say, they poisoned the water just in case any specimens tried to get out."

"And you couldn't have told me that earlier? But thanks for bringing wood."

"I forgot, sorry for forgetting in a rush of driving. And your welcome." He said, then disappeared before a wooden plank started wiggling through the hole for them to crawl across the river. But it stopped half way as there was shouting and the sounds of people. Luke yelped as someone attacked him, now a fight outside before he cried out in pain.
